Since players first entered the universe of Destiny in 2014, they've done battle against enemies of all sizes. Players regularly do battle with enemies that vary from being slightly taller than already imposing Titan Guardians to foes who deliver on the epic, space fantasy Bungie continues to build on. The trend of imposing enemies looks to continue with the release of Destiny 2's next expansion, The Witch Queen, as Bungie provides new insight into the titular Hive God.

Bungie shared the new information about Savathun on Twitter following its latest tease for The Witch Queen's August 24 reveal stream. The studio continued to play coy about the Hive God of Cunning's full appearance, leaving that reveal for the planned stream.

Bungie revealed Savathun will stand around 21 feet tall, towering over the Guardians she will likely do battle with in 2022. Savathun's height makes her one of the taller, non-raid enemies Guardians will have battled over Destiny's lifespan. It keeps her in-line with her brother, the defeated Taken King Oryx, who also stood around 20 feet tall in his physical form before growing to epic proportions inside of the King's Fall raid. The only other enemies players have encountered who also tower over Savathun include the Worm God Xol, the ahamkara Riven, and a few other raid bosses encountered across Destiny and Destiny 2.

Another imposing major enemy in the Destiny universe is not suprising, either. Bungie has always tried to deliver players an experience built on epic moments only a space fantasy world can provide. The raids are a perfect example of this effort, alternating between epic boss battles and sweeping environments players must traverse in their battle against The Darkness.

The choice to reveal this information shows how coy Bungie is being about what's in store for The Witch Queen as well. Plenty of leaks have floated around online over the last few months, most notably the massive Destiny 'notepad' leak, teasing Savathun's motives and how players will interact with her. However, until Bungie provides clarity as to the impact Savathun will have on The Last City.

No other character has impacted the Destiny universe in recent memory as much as Savathun, despite never physically appearing once. Instead, her impact has been felt through players' battles with Nokris in Season of Arrivals and Quria in Season of the Splicer. There's also the small matter of Osiris and the popular player theory of the current Osiris actually being Savathun in disguise. The answer to this question is likely to be answered shortly when Season of the Lost begins.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
