The second expansion for Destiny 2, Warmind, gave Guardians quite a bit to chew on while they wait for the game's next expansion to drop later this year. Most of this came in the form of several quality of life updates, bug fixes, and of course, the additional story, strike, patrol and gear content inherent to a piece of DLC for the title. Bungie didn't limit themselves to adding new modes and more fan-favorite weapons with Warmind, though, as they also added some new ARG puzzles for fans to dig into.

Destiny has become somewhat infamous in the gaming community for making heavy use of Augmented Reality Games (or ARGs). The first game's most in depth and notorious ARG is what eventually led players to discover the existence of the Outbreak Prime exotic pulse rifle. It was a massive quest that took the entire Destiny code-breaking community to crack, and the result was a nifty gun that helped bring the entire community together. Now, it looks like Guardians can look forward to even more in Destiny 2.

Fresh off the triumph of conquering Warmind's first ARG, which awarded one lucky member a real version of Warmind's signature Valkyrie spear, the denizens of /r/raidsecrets were keen to unlock the mystery behind a new Valkyrie puzzle. Which, after a considerable amount of concerted effort, they did. However, the results of their discovery weren't quite as dramatic as those of the last ARG.

A Redditor with the handle "certainpersonio" recently posted a detailed explanation of the community's process and their end result. Instead of finding another hidden weapon or some new lore about the Exo Stranger, all they ended up receiving was "two tokens and a blue." Despite all the trouble and controversy surrounding Bungie over the past several months, it seems they've managed to maintain a sense of humor.

For those unaware, "two tokens and a blue" became something of an inside joke for the Destiny community after Bungie's reveal stream for "Curse of Osiris" took a bit of a sour turn. The firestorm surrounding Destiny 2's launch state was at its peak intensity, and the developer was keen on reassuring players that everything in Curse of Osiris would be much more rewarding than the vanilla content, especially with its new public event. So, the presenters quickly dove into the event, completed it, and were promptly rewarded with...two tokens and a blue weapon. The Destiny community quickly coined the phrase "two tokens and a blue" and used it to poke some fun at Bungie's very public slip up.

There has been a major rift developing between Bungie and their fans for some time now, and while it won't heal overnight, more ARG puzzles mixed with some self-aware humor is definitely a good start. So long as Bungie continues to make new additions like Armsweek and take fan feedback seriously, Destiny 2 might just make it after all.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
