It has been a big week for Destiny 2. The fourth forge was unlocked, and it was even revealed that Bungie has begun the process of acquiring self-publishing rights from Activision. Despite all of this, Bungie still made the time to release its "This Week at Bungie" update, with one notable reveal being the potential cause for the intermittent GUITAR errors experienced by players in the Last Wish raid.

For those unaware, error code GUITAR is a general networking error, sometimes experienced by multiple players at once. Because of the nature of this glitch and the Last Wish raid, this has been incredibly frustrating for several Destiny 2 players. Perhaps more during Petra's Run version of the raid, which requires the raid to be completed in one run without deaths.

Now, Bungie has revealed that Destiny Player Support began monitoring these errors shortly after the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken. After a serious, in-depth investigation, it has determined that these GUITAR errors are occurring as a result of when players reach the max limit of server-controlled objects for the area, causing the game to crash. This also explains the difficulty players have had with self-determining the issue, as this limit could really be hit an almost any point.

These GUITAR errors are worsened during the final encounter because of the encounter-specific objects left over from the Riven fight. Teams at Bungie are hard at work identifying the root cause of this error and are currently testing solutions. However, Bungie is uncertain as to when a fix can launch, but it is hoping to have something by the Destiny 2 Update 2.2.0 in March.

While this is big news for guardians, there's nothing more to do than wait now. Beyond this GUITAR error reveal, Bungie also revealed some big changes to Destiny 2's supers, with several classes getting buffed but some of the strongest also getting nerfed. Hopefully, these changes lead to a more balanced sandbox in both PvE and PvP, and these GUITAR errors get fixed sooner rather than later.

Destiny 2: Black Armory is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
