Destiny 1 veterans have likely noticed the absence of bounties in Destiny 2, and their lack of a presence in the sequel is debatable. But one fan on the Destiny subreddit has put a lot of work into creating a concept of how bounties could make a return in the sequel, complete with how they could work in Destiny 2's new systems.

User NFSgaming is responsible for the concept, which makes Louis (the falcon that sits beside clan vendor Hawthorne) the vendor for collecting bounties. Where Destiny 1 had a mixture of general bounties that ranged from racking up kills of a particular enemy type to using specific skills to get kills in the Crucible, this concept is most like the bounties players could pick up from Petra Venj in the Reef in the first game.

That is, NFSgaming has proposed that these bounties are focused on high-value targets that players would have to chase down. With this idea, there would be multiple bounties of varying levels from Rare to Exotic, which would rotate on a weekly basis. In return for completing them, players would receive Bird Seed: a Token that is specific to Louis. Like the recent vendor changes, Bird Seed and Legendary Shards would be used to buy armor, weapons, and items.

Without a doubt, it's a creative idea and a very well-executed concept at that. Some Bungie employees have even taken notice of the concept, commenting on it and sharing it on Twitter.

But, like many fan concepts, designing such a system would likely take a lot of work to complete and get into the game itself. And based on the amount of changes Bungie has detailed that will be coming to the game in the next few months, the developer is certainly busy designing the changes they have promised. Still, fans have argued that Destiny 2 lacks the same type of weekly rituals that brought them regularly back in Destiny 1, so something like this could help with that.

Destiny 2 and its Curse of Osiris expansion are available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
