While the Vex Offensive missions were largely a hit or miss style activity for Destiny 2 players, the latest season attempts to bring back an activity that hearkens back to one of the communities favorite gameplay modes. Osiris' Sundial is the new Season of Dawn activity and it brings back a lot of elements from the Menagerie like letting players control the loot they earn, no fail runs, and a handful of missions in the activity to help keep it from feeling stale.

While the Sundial is a smaller experience that the Menagerie before it, players may be confused on how to effectively complete each round as there are no instructions to help guide them. While fireteams can't loose, there are bonuses for finishing each round before the timer ends and triumphs to unlock for the new Savior seal for getting through each round as quickly as possible.

Thankfully, the Sundial only has three parts to understand, which should make the learning curve less than it was when the Menagerie was first introduced. Here are all the details on how to play and effectively finish the Bombardment round of the Sundial activity in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Sundial

What is Bombardment?

This phase of the Sundial activity is actually what Bungie originally showed off during its Season of Dawn livestream event. During this round, an immune Centurion boss will appear in the center of the map. Ignore this enemy as it can't take damage from normal weapons. As Cabal start to flood into the map, players should look for yellow health bar enemies and quickly take them out. When they're defeated, they'll drop an orb that can be picked up.

At this point, head back to the middle of the map and throw the orb at the immune boss. Similar to the Hammer of Dawn in the Gears of War franchise, the orb acts as a targeting beacon that sends down a column of fire at the location of the orb. Continue this process to destroy the boss character's shield until it drops completely letting all players damage his health. If the boss is defeated, a lot of points are earned and a new immune boss spawns in to begin the process again.

Things to Consider

Players only have 5 minutes to accrue as many points as possible during this Sundial phase, so the key to this mode is focusing on all yellow bar enemies. Not only do they drop the orbs needed to damage the immune Cabal boss, but they'll provide additional points to fill the very Menagerie looking Sundial progression bar. Keep in mind that the phase becomes more difficult the more Cabal bosses that are defeated within the five minutes.

The laser orbs can continue to be used on the boss, regardless of if the immune shield is active or not, so if players are holding orbs, keep throwing them at the boss character for added damage. When the shield drops, unleash the highest DPS options to quickly drop the Cabal's health to start the process again.

Destiny 2 and the Shadowkeep expansion are out now for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
