Destiny 2: Beyond Light is a massive expansion that was recently released across all platforms. The raid for the expansion dropped on November 21, and the world-first Stone Crypt Raid completion happened after only six hours. Once the raid had been completed, new content became available for everyone, and that new content includes a quest chain for an exotic chain sword that players are clamoring for.

The Lament Exotic Sword is not only a unique and stylish new sword for Destiny Guardians, but it also has some great stats. The sword allows players to use a defensive guard, and it also has a Light attack that builds damage buffs to destroy enemies. The stacks can immediately kill just about anything that gets in the Guardian's way.

The Quest Chain

The first step in getting the Lament is logging on. Now that the raid has been beaten, players will have access to the first part of the quest chain. Players have to Locate Dead Exos, find the Giant Exo Head, then complete Giant Expectations parts one through three. After that, the quest chain will bring Guardians to the quest Rescue the Past, which involves finding a single shard of the blade in the Glassway Strike. Luckily, the Glassway Strike is fairly easy to complete, not like some of the most difficult strikes in Destiny 2.

Getting the Blade Piece

It appears that all players have to do is complete the Glassway Strike one time, and they will almost be guaranteed a blade piece. It drops from any of the Vex bosses that appear inside of the strike, up to and including the final Europa strike boss that can be cheesed. All players will have to do to get this part of the Lament quest completed is go to Europa, get into the Strike, and complete it with a fireteam.

For those who don't have friends playing Destiny 2, they can use the matchmaker to get inside the instance with a team of random Guardians. No one should have to go at this quest alone.

Next Part of the Quest

Once players have the one blade piece they need from the Glassway Strike, and have completed all the new Exo challenges from the quests before it, they will have a few more steps before they can get their chainsaw-like Exotic sword. Talking to Banshee-44 will start the next phase of the quest.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
