Guardians in Bungie's Destiny 2 with a penchant for action will love the game's wide assortment of weapons and abilities. Moreover, thanks to the game's healthy roster of armaments, there's always a weapon for any job. Thankfully, Guardians who want to face the enemy head-on can rely on Auto Rifles to finish off any kind of threat.

Auto Rifles fit the nice spot in between the long-range finesse of Sniper Rifles and the close-range safety net of Hand Cannons. Moreover, its high Rate of Fire makes it a great ally for intense engagements. Additionally, its healthy range makes it a trusty weapon for almost any kind of range. For new players, what are the best Auto Rifles for their characters?

10 Get: Monte Carlo

Guardians with a penchant for aesthetics shouldn't pass up on the Monte Carlo. And aside from its sleek aesthetic, it packs a blade capable of decimating enemies in close range. This trait, aside from the fact that its Monte Carlo Method perk lets the weapon recharge melee cooldown when dealing damage, encourages players to get fast and loose.

Paired up with the Monte Carlo Method is its selection of interrelated traits. For instance, Fluted Barrel and Composite Stock focus on increasing handling speed and stability, with High-Caliber Rounds increasing overall effective range. These Perks, combined with Markov Chain that deals increase damage after kills, make it devastating in PVE.

9 Don't Get: Origin Story

Despite the lack of notable Perks, Origin Story remains a standout choice for some Hunters. Thanks to Precision Frame, Origin Story has decent recoil. Moreover, Guardians can increase its handling speed and range with Hitmark IS and Red Dot Perks.

As such, Origin Story, combined with traits such as Rampage's increased damage per kill, makes it an ideal weapon companion. However, despite boasting stable recoil, there are better Auto Rifles in terms of stats. Additionally, while a lot of players like Origin Story for PVP, it shines only at the hands of Precision Shot specialists, something not everyone can do.

8 Get: Cerberus + 1

Cerberus+1 packs a punch, thanks to four barrels attached to this Auto Rifle. Its Four-Headed Dog Trait lets the weapon shoot four bullets ion a spread simultaneously, with Spread Shot Package capable of reducing its projectile spread while aiming. Additionally, players can fit Cerberus+1 with Perks that increase range and overall firepower, increasing its potency.

Moreover, its damage spread makes Cerberus +1 also optimal for PVP incursions. Regardless of the battle choice, Guardians with Cerberus+1 can easily zig-zag through the battlefield, fire its spread shots, and theoretically finish of entire groups with just a blast.

7 Don't Get: Ghost Primus

Ghost Primus has Perks built precisely to improve its handling speed, range, and stability. Moreover, its Under Pressure Trait grants better stability at lower magazine counts, encouraging players to actively move around.

Unfortunately, while Ghost Primus shines in terms of aim assist, there are other Legendaries that have better stats and deadlier Perks. Ghost Primus works best with Guardians that need the aim to make Precision Shots. However, this weapon might not be ideal for long-term endgame raids.

6 Get: False Promises

False Promises is a Kinetic Auto Rifle that, with the right hands, can wreak havoc in both PVE and PVP. Its High-Impact frame means its low firing speed is compensated with high-damage shots, with ADS improving its damage output. Moreover, Sympathetic Arsenal gives value to final blows as reloading afterward will reload other weapons.

Additionally, having this weapon with the Rampage perk not only means Guardians get faster reload after kills, but their damage is also increased. However, getting this gun with Feeding Frenzy will also further increase reloading speed after kills, enabling Guardians to quickly switch targets without worrying about their bullets.

5 Don't Get: Hard Light

Guardians love Hard Light not just for the great recoil, but also for the aim assist. Moreover, thanks to Volatile Light, shots fired by Hard Light don't experience damage falloff, can over-penetrate or damage enemies better, and can even bounce off hard surfaces. Theoretically, missing with Hard Light will most likely make the shots hit anyway.

Unfortunately, Guardians may benefit more from the flexibility of Perks and Traits offered by other Legendaries. However, stats-wise, Hard Light seems to be a great choice for training newcomers before receiving some of the game's more flexible and dynamic weapons.

4 Get: Reckless Oracle

Reckless Oracle is an Energy Auto Rifle that can generate a ton of hurt thanks to its extended mag reserves and decent reload. Thanks to its Rapid-Fire Frame Perk, Reckless Oracle enjoys more ammo per mag and reloads much faster on empty magazines. Moreover, its Kill Clip Perk gives players a damage boost when reloading after kills.

However, Guardians with Reckless Oracle can also enjoy perks such as Mulligan, which can return missed shots back to the magazine. Moreover, its Demolitionist trait can let Guardians use the Grenade Ability to reload Reckless Oracle instead of using ammo reserves.

3 Don't Get: Misfit

Misfit serves as the Auto Rifle for the job if Guardians are looking for a reliable weapon with a ton of ammo for extended fights. Thanks to its Rapid-Fire Frame, Misfit enjoys more ammunition and faster reload time. Moreover, High-Impact Reserves Perk means Misfit enjoys stronger damage for bullets near the end of the magazine.

However, stats-wise, Misfit doesn't do as much damage compared to other Auto Rifles. Players might take advantage of Misfit's innate stats and Perks more in PVP, as its rapid reload and handling capabilities make it great for intense firefights and rapidly-changing tactics in matches.

2 Get: The Summoner

The Summoner is an Auto Rifle that enjoys quite a ton of Perks that take advantage of its decent handling and reload speed. Moreover, this weapon doesn't have the same impact as other powerful Legendaries. However, The Summoner compensates for this weakness with its unique set of Perks. Adaptive Frame allows this weapon to enjoy great stability, with Rampage increasing damage per kill.

Guardians may also get Perks from random rolls. These include Zen Moment that increases damage on ADS mode, Celerity which grants additional mobility as the last fireteam member, or even Dragonfly that generates an elemental explosion with Precision Kills.

1 Don't Get: Arc Logic

Arc Logic remains a popular Auto Rifle, especially for Guardians who have had their fair share of PVP encounters. Arc Logic enjoys great stability with its Adaptive Frame. Moreover, its Tripe Tap trait returns a bullet to the magazine with Precision shots, while Moving Target gives a speed boost when aiming. All these traits make Arc Logic quite the attractive weapon of choice for skirmishes.

Unfortunately, despite its huge advantages, Arc Logic might seem to be rather complicated to handle, regardless if Guardians use it for PVP or PVE. Additionally, its emphasis on mobility and boosting acquisition makes it a perfect fit for Guardians who want to eliminate enemies in a fast-paced manner. After all, not Guardians can handle fast-paced battles.
