Usually, every season of Destiny 2 brings with it a new collection of weapons. And within all those new weapons added to the game, there are often a few that are worth chasing over the course of the season in order to get a perfect roll. And the current Season of the Undying is no different. Shadowkeep and Season of the Undying brought new weapons for the Moon, Vex Offensive, and the raid. While not every weapon in the game is top-tier, there is a handful that is definitely worth players' attention.
The one source of weapons that has not yet been released at the time of this writing is the dungeon that will open on October 29th, which promises to bring four more weapons to Destiny 2. Omniscient Eye
Omniscient Eye is getting some serious buzz for being the new hotness for snipers in the Crucible. It is a Rapid-Fire Frame with best-in-class base stats. Omniscient Eye drops from the final chest in the Garden of Salvation raid. While this sniper is going to require a full clear of the raid (or at least a clear of the final boss), which is not going to be easy for every player, it is definitely worth the chase for those who love to snipe in PvP.
Love and Death
Love and Death is one of the strongest PvE weapons in the game with the ability to deal massive damage to bosses. It is earned from the Essence of Insanity at the Lectern of Enchantment. The good news is that once players have found the Essence of Insanity they can keep buying the Essence with Phantasmal Cores until they get the roll they want, making this an easily farmable weapon.
Ancient Gospel
Ancient Gospel is a great hand cannon that has a lot of options for great rolls for both PvE and PvP. But Ancient Gospel is making list for a particular roll: Outlaw and Dragonfly. This is the "Fatebringer roll" from Destiny 1, and the same roll as the curated version of Nation of Beasts from the Last Wish raid. Ancient Gospel has a chance to drop from the chest after the third encounter of Garden of Salvation after defeating the Consecrated Mind.
Optative
Optative is a highly farmable weapon and it is especially good on console. As a 180 RPM hand cannon, this weapon can be very good in PvP as an equivalent to the Service Revolver. Players can ensure they get a drop of this weapon by picking up one of the Vex Offensive weapon quests from Ikora Rey and it has a good drop rate from Vex Offensive in general. The roll to watch for is Full Bore, Accurized Rounds, Outlaw/Rapid Hit and Kill Clip with a Range Masterwork.
Tranquility
Tranquility is special because it is one of the few sniper rifles in the game that can roll with Firing Line, which is great for boss damage in PvE activities done with other players such as the raid or the Nightfall. Like Love and Death, Tranquility comes from the Essence of Vanity from the Lectern of Enchantment, making it moderately farmable. The roll generally regarded as the best for Tranquility is Field Prep and Firing Line.
