The Titan is an essential class in every fireteam in Destiny 2. The class serves as the squad leader and tank in every difficult activity. While fireteams can complete raids without a Titan, it is much easier with at least one in the squad.

Titans were designed for the add clearing and damage absorption necessary in raids. Generally, Titan mains will have to shoulder more responsibility because of the strengths of the class. Every dominant Titan class has a few common characteristics, and they must be able to take a lot of damage and deal a lot of damage. Below are the two best Titan builds to use when attempting difficult PvE activities.

Stasis PvE Build

A Titan going on melee - Destiny 2 Titan Tank Tips

Ever since the new subclass was added, many guardians have made the switch to stasis, as many of the abilities are far and away better than the other classes. The stasis build is geared for tanking, and gamers will be able to take on rooms full of enemies with ease. Below are the armor pieces necessary to complete the build:

  • Icefall Mantle Gauntlets: Guardians will no longer have a shield, but can activate a personal armor that absorbs damage
  • Anti-Extinction Greaves: Equipped with the Charged With Light mod for faster Supers
  • Righteous Helm: Equipped with the Protective Light mod to increase health when fully charged
  • Righteous Plate: Equipped with the Warmind's Protection mod for the chance of a cell drop.
  • Mighty Rivalry Mark: Equipped with Power of Rasputin which will increase damage to enemies near Warmind cells.

The stasis build will give players more health with Icefall Mantle and more damage with the Warmind mods. Also, the light mods will make sure that players get their Super quicker and have more health when their power bar is full. Gamers may want to stack resilience to improve cooldown times for the Icefall ability as well. The following weapons will pair well with the armor build to ensure players can clear as many adds as possible:

  • Ikelos_SMG_V1.02
  • Falling Guillotine

The Ikelos is one of the better add clearing weapons, with a modest damage profile and a high fire rate. More importantly, it will increase the chances that enemies will drop Warmind cells, which will enhance damage as described above. Guardians should use the Falling Guillotine as a major and boss dps weapon.

Players should not worry about getting up close and personal, as the build has far more damage protection with the gauntlets and Protective light mod. To complete the class, guardians should be using the new Behemoth stasis subclass. Behemoth's Shiver Strike will allow players to deal even more damage with the Falling Guillotine.

Void PvE Build

The void Titan build is geared specifically for difficult Nightfall runs. Again, damage absorption and dps are the main goals of the class. Listed below are the armor pieces and mods that make up the class:

  • Ursa Furiosa: Increased movement speed while Sentinel Shield is active. Damage converts to Super energy after a Super ends.
  • Mark Of The Exile: Equipped with Oppressive Darkness to weaken enemies affected by a void grenade, and High-Energy Fire which increases damage while charged with light.
  • Moonfang-X7 Chassis: Equipped with Overload Grenades to reduce enemy damage after they are hit with a void grenade.
  • Holdfast Greaves: Equipped with the Discipline mod which increases discipline by 10.
  • Moonfang -X7 Helm: Equipped with Taking Charge to speed up the power bar.

Each of the mods is specifically tailored to weaken enemies, increase damage, and recharge Supers. The void class gear should be used with an auto rifle or hand cannon paired with a shotgun. The Summoner is currently the best auto rifle in the game, but the Suros Regime is another good option in PvE. Hand cannons are just as good, but auto rifles are more enjoyable to use in PvE.

Guardians will want to have a weapon with enough ammo to run through adds and a close-range option to pair it with. The Seventh Seraph is a good shotgun for players that do not have a preference. It is important to find weapon rolls that support the mods outlined above. In PvE, ammo capacity, reload speed, and range are more important than in PVP. It is always a good option to have a rocket or sword in the power slot for boss fights.

Guardians should be using middle tree void because it includes Banner Shield. The shield allows players to fire shots at enemies through the barricade without taking damage from opponents. By defending other teammates, the shield will last even longer. The Banner Shield is one of the only foolproof ways to get off a revive in chaotic situations as well. The void detonators and resupply are also useful abilities, as they will regen health and resupply grenades when used in conjunction. With the mods above, players will be able to spam grenades and takedown armies of adds.
