Destiny 2 will see a lot of its current meta leaving soon with the departure of Season 9, as a lot of popular weapons, like snipers, will be receiving a nerf once the game's next season goes live.

As such, fans have started discussing what new weapons will be on top once Destiny 2's Season 10 moves into full swing. One new YouTube video, in particular, kicks off a conversation by trying to predict what weapons will be the most optimal to use out of the bunch available at the season's start.

As a disclaimer, most of these predictions apply to PvE and not PvP, the latter of which will be a big focus in Season 10 since it marks the return of the Trials of Osiris. The video, belonging to YouTuber Ehroar, provides an in-depth explanation.

Essentially, Ehroar predicts that Whisper of the Worm, Wendigo GL3, and Izanagi's Burden will make up the meta going into Season of the Worthy. All three of them share high DPS and cover the majority of situations and scenarios that most players would find themselves in during both six- and three-man fireteam events.

To go along with these weapons would be the Two-Four Punch combo, which is the One-Two Punch shotgun perk stacked twice. The One-Two Punch perk increases melee damage when all the pellets of a shotgun blast make contact with the target. The Two-Four Punch combo, then, involves shooting a target with one shotgun and then immediately switching and shooting with another before using a melee. The DPS fluctuates depending on the shotguns involved but remains great overall.

Outside of these weapons, honorable mentions include:

  • Acrius (Excellent steady and burst DPS)
  • D.A.R.C.I (Can outperform Whisper of the Worm with its first magazine)
  • The Wardcliff Coil (Good at clearing out ads)
  • One Thousand Voices (Good at clearing out Majors)
  • Black Talon (Currently does good damage off of blocked attacks, but may change with the sword update)
  • Anarchy (Pulls off high DPS when paired with Two-Four Punch)

While all of these weapons are viable, they don't surpass the combo and guns mentioned before them. Season of the Worthy is sure to introduce new exotics and legendaries throughout its lifespan, though, so whatever the actual meta ends up being remains to be seen.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
