Destiny 2 is an incredibly complex game for a new player to get into, which is why the community and Bungie have worked hard to simplify the game and some of its features to make gameplay more simple and enjoyable.

Players looking to make their Destiny 2 grind, whether it's in PVP or PVE, ten times easier and simpler, have a bunch of apps and sites to choose from to help them on their journey. Here are which companion apps and sites every player should try.

Updated on October 19, 2022, by Anastasia Maillot: Destiny 2 has become quite the complex game year after year, though efforts are being made by Bungie to simplify the gaming experience for newcomers. To help existing players and even new guardians, however, a bunch of apps and sites continue to be available as valuable tools. A few more great sites that help players track their activities in Destiny 2 have been added to this list, and the D2 Gunsmith entry has been updated to reflect the current status of the site following the owner's decision to leave Destiny 2. Here's which sites and apps can still help Destiny 2 players with their daily activities.

14 Braytech

Braytech is one of those sites that offer a little bit of everything to Destiny 2 players. For those looking for a place that does just about anything and everything, Braytech can absolutely be that place. Not only can PC players access it easily, but it also comes in app form for both Android and iOS users.

Braytech shows all the current information a Destiny 2 player might need to see when logging in, including the current rotating activities and their personal progress in the game. It can be particularly helpful for those tracking their Triumphs and wanting to check up on weeklies.

13 Destiny Sets

Destiny-2-Lightfall-Guardian-Armor-Sets

Collecting cool weapons and armor is a big part of the Destiny 2 experience, but sometimes it can get pretty overwhelming when players are trying to complete a specific set. That's where Destiny Sets comes in and shows exactly what players are missing in each Collection.

Players can log in to have real-time information on their Collection progress, and then specifically find out which pieces they still need to farm and collect. This goes as far as showing sets from seasonal events and even the Eververse store, so nothing is forgotten here for the completionists.

12 Trials Report

Trials of Osiris is currently the number one PVP endgame activity for competitive players, and although PVP has been going through a stale patch for a long time, players keep coming back for Trials and its juicy loot.

Trials Report is the go-to site for anyone wanting to check up on the meta and what others might be running on a given weekend, and a given map. The simple site also shows the current map and the weapon that can be earned from going Flawless on that week. Most importantly, however, players can search for other players and see what their Trials stats are.

11 Destiny Tracker

When it comes to pure raw stats, Destiny Tracker is the go-to place for checking anything related to Crucible stats. Players who are deep into PVP in particular will want to connect their account to Destiny Tracker to keep track of their own stats and even check the stats of their fireteam members and opponents.

This site is handy in the sense that Destiny 2 itself doesn't show all the interesting stats players might want to know when playing PVP, so having a site like this is insanely useful for any hardcore PVP players who take the grind very seriously.

10 Destiny Raid Report

On the other side of the tryhard spectrum is Destiny Raid Report. Raids are the most popular endgame activity, often favored by the most dedicated PVE players, and this tracker is fantastic for keeping up with any raid-related stats.

Players can also check the stats of any other fireteam members of players by using the search function. It's more of a niche tool for PVE players, but for those who like to raid on a weekly basis, it's an absolute must-have.

9 Where Is Xur?

Xur is one of the best vendors in the game, but he only comes around on Fridays and leaves at reset time on Tuesdays. Due to this limited presence and random appearance, players will want to know where he is each week and what exactly he's selling.

Those who can't make it to the game immediately can use the Where Is Xur site to check where he can be found and what he has in his inventory. It's the fastest way to get all the info on Xur come reset time on Friday.

8 Today In Destiny

Destiny 2 Grandmaster Nightfall

Not sure what to do? Want to know which Lost Sectors and Nightfall weapons are in rotation? Today In Destiny is sort of like a newspaper for the game that informs players of which activities are in rotation, from Nightfalls to rotating Crucible game modes to Lost Sectors.

This is an incredibly powerful tool for those who struggle to keep up with Nightfall and Lost Sector rotations in particular, as the site tells all the modifiers for these challenges, as well as which Exotic gear and Nightfall weapons are in the rotation for that day or week.

7 Light.GG

Destiny 2 Eyasluna Hand Cannon

This multipurpose site is the bread and butter for Destiny 2 players, featuring a number of tools. Players can use it to track their triumphs and seal progress, but it also has a full catalog of all the weapons and gear in the game, where to get them, and what rolls they can get.

Given all that can be achieved with this site, it's pretty much a must-have for all players and it's likely that every Destiny 2 gamer will visit Light.GG at least at some point during their Destiny 2 career.

6 Destiny Recipes

Destiny 2 Hawthorne Rally Banner Legendary Shard Trade

Destiny Recipes is an incredibly powerful tool for players who want to always be prepared and efficient in their grind. The site features a few important tools, including a pre-season checklist where players can track how much XP they have stored for the next season, along with Glimmer and planetary materials.

During a season, the site also has another tool that lists all the activities players can and should do the increase their Power Level, and even shows with gear still needs a boost. It does a fantastic job at recommending when players should prioritize Powerful Rewards instead of Pinnacle Rewards, so for an efficient Power Level grind, this site is a must-have tool.

Now, on to the official tools that Bungie has given to its players. The Bungie Fireteam search is one that is somewhat underrated and sometimes even unknown by some newer players. The name is exactly what this feature is: a service through which players can quickly find teammates to play in any activity they desire.

This is especially useful for solo players who wish to grind Pinnacle PVE activities that might require a full fireteam, such as high-difficulty Dares of Eternity and Wellspring. That said, it can also be used for PVP, raids, Nightfalls, and just about anything else.

4 Destiny 2 Companion App

Another official tool by Bungie, the Destiny 2 Companion App is every guardian's go-to tool when on the move and away from their console or PC. The app can be downloaded on mobile devices and displays information on vendors and bounties on a daily basis.

Players can also use the app to buy bounties on the fly without having to return to the Tower over and over again. This can be super useful if players are about to start an activity and realize they forgot to pick up bounties for it.

3 D2 Gunsmith

Destiny 2 Gunsmith is currently unavailable.

The grind for godroll weapons is one of the primary joys of Destiny 2, and what better tool to use for it than the D2 Gunsmith site? Here, players can search for any weapon in the game and view the perk options for each column.

Players can also pick and choose perks to see what combinations fit their playstyle and preferences the most, as the site shows exact stat buffs and debuffs for every perk. It's incredibly useful if getting the best weapons is key for the player.

2 D2 Armor Picker

Bungie gave players a glimpse of the new Trials armor sets coming in Season 17.

When it comes to armor and stats, players should try the D2 Armor Picker. At first glance, this tool looks a bit daunting, with all the little features it has. That said, if players are desperate to make a Tier 3 build, which is essentially three stats maxed out at 100, then this Armor Picker is a must-have in order to avoid wasting stats.

The Armor Picker works wonderfully in conjunction with DIM, so all players need to do is connect their account and then copy and paste the query from the armor picker into DIM to receive their perfected armor set. Features also let players build around certain Exotics and subclass fragments, which is nice.

1 Destiny Item Manager

destiny-2-vault-items

No doubt the most important companion for any Destiny 2 player is Destiny Item Manager or DIM. Any new player that doesn't already have this should connect their account on DIM immediately, as it will save them time from having to visit their vault manually at the Tower over and over again.

DIM allows players to pull and transfer items from their vault into their inventories (and even between characters) with just a few clicks. The site also lets players tag any items in their vault, which makes vault cleaning much easier. The site has other features as well, such as letting players save loadouts for easy application and an overview of vendors. If there is one site players should absolutely use, then DIM is without a doubt it.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
