Destiny 2 is a massively popular game that offers a huge array of awards and weapons that many fans would love to get their hands on by any means necessary, even through cheating. Unfortunately, this has become such a huge issue that Bungie has issued statements about cheating in the past.
One of the new possible cases of cheating in Destiny 2 comes from a fairly popular content creator who goes by bakenGangsta, or Baken for short. Baken regularly makes Destiny 2 content and has gained a decent following from it, resulting in over 12,000 followers on Twitter.
Now it seems Baken has been hit with a stroke of bad luck because their Destiny 2 account has just been recently hit with its second ban for no apparent reason. Baken then exclaimed their frustration over this on Twitter after seeing many other accounts that constantly cheat not have this type of issue.
A Community Manager at Bungie with the username dmg04 has since replied to Baken's tweet regarding the cause for the ban. After going through multiple checks with the security team, Bungie has detected that two accounts under Baken's ownership have been using Cheat Suites and Ban Evasion while playing. Dmg04 ends the tweet by saying that they have now banned four of Baken's accounts in total and will not speak of this matter again.
Some fans have come to Baken's defense and claimed that Bungie is taking its frustration out on content creators instead of solving the root of the problems with hundreds of other cheaters. Others have defended dmg04 and claimed that they are simply doing their job. Baken has since come out in response, saying that the situation has turned into their word against Bungie's. Baken claims they have never owned four accounts and that something on their PC is triggering Bungie's cheat detection software.
To that tweet, dmg04 gave out one final statement on the matter, saying that Community Management isn't just about proving people wrong; it is also important to set the record straight if someone is trying to mislead others. Dmg04 just wants to make Destiny 2 the best game it can be, and he is in this for the long haul. At this moment, this is now a "he said she said" situation with no physical evidence shown from either side. Hopefully, whatever the outcome may prove beneficial to the Destiny fanbase in the long haul.
