Destiny 2 has long been teasing something called Arc Week, slated on the Year 2 calendar to take place during the Season of the Drifter. Many Destiny 2 players speculated about what Arc Week could be and now Bungie has finally revealed how Arc Week works, detailed some changes to Arc subclasses, and even revealed new Arc emotes.

Destiny 2's Arc Week will begin on April 9th with the weekly reset. In what most players probably expected, all applicable activity modifiers will include Arc Singe (which boosts Arc damage) and bounties will be Arc-focused. The game will also be featuring the Mayhem Crucible playlist, which features rapid recharge on players' supers and abilities. The idea behind Mayhem is to allow players to try out a myriad of newly buffed Arc subclasses.

Destiny 2 Arc Subclass Buffs

That's the next part of Arc Week that may be a little more unexpected. There are some significant buffs coming to nearly all of the game's Arc subclasses across all three classes. The subclasses getting these improvements are:

  • Striker Code of the Juggernaut (bottom path)
  • Arcstrider Way of the Warrior (top path)
  • Arcstrider Way of the Wind (bottom path)
  • Stormcaller Stormtrance Super (both paths)
  • Stormcaller Attunement of Conduction & Attunement of the Elements (both paths)

Arc Week will also bring back the Thunderlord exotic machine gun quest, which first appeared during the Festival of the Lost last October. The quest was later retired and Thunderlord was added to the exotic engram loot table, but from April 9 to April 23, players who have yet to earn the powerful exotic will have the opportunity to easily get the Thunderlord by completing the original quest.

During Arc Week, the Eververse Store will also feature a special Destiny 2 Arc Week emote for each class that goes along with the electric-powered theme. Each emote will be available in bundles, which players can purchase directly via microtransactions.

While it is not something to the extent of a true live event like Festival of the Lost or Crimson Days, Arc Week should inject a little bit of extra life into Season of the Drifter, giving Destiny 2 players a specific gameplay focus on existing content for the week.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
