While Destiny 2 is set to have plenty of tie-in promotions like Bungie's collaboration with Pop-Tarts to dole out XP boosts to Guardians willing to buy boxes of the confectionery pastry delights, as one should expect, the sequel will contain plenty of content all its own. As a matter of fact, the developer recently revealed that the forthcoming science fiction shooter will contain over 80 different missions and PvE activities for players to enjoy.

This information comes from coverage in the latest issue of Edge Magazine (Issue #310), with Bungie declaring that each of the various missions and PvE activities in Destiny 2 are substantial in length, challenge, story, and reward. Not to mention, the developer said that there's so much new content in the game that at one point in development they realized they had more content than progression, which is an aspect that they've subsequently fixed.

Furthermore, it was revealed that players won’t be able to to take too much time during Destiny 2's Nightfall Strikes, as there will be a time limit implemented. For example, one strike is 13 minutes long. With this being the case, Guardians will now have to conjure up some efficient strategies and be diligent about seeing them through in successful manner.

Also in the latest issue of Edge Magazine, Bungie makes it known that Destiny 2's open beta didn't contain the final version of how Energy weapons are supposed to work against AI combatants with elemental shields. Once the game officially releases, the elemental shields will blow up once they're depleted, blasting and damaging any enemies who happen to be in a certain radius nearby. Not to mention, supers and grenades will recharge faster than they did during the beta.

Taking all of this into consideration, it looks as if Destiny 2's campaign is shaping up quite nicely, and could offer a much more sumptuous and satisfying experience than its predecessor. Plus, Bungie is already looking ahead to those who finish the base materials, as the studio seems to have loads of ideas in store when it comes to end game content.

Destiny 2 is set to launch on September 6, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release scheduled for October 24, 2017.
