Destiny 2's 30th Anniversary Pack is getting a lot of praise online for its Dares of Eternity, with its fun dynamics that turn Xur and Starhorse into game show hosts, as well as a compelling gameplay loop that also happens to be quite rewarding. Dares of Eternity almost feels like a different Destiny 2 than what players are used to, with Xur translating Spacehorse's "infinite neighs" into hilarious bits of dialogue, even calling the obstacle course "utterly bonkers," which feels oddly satisfying and completely out of character at the same time.
Another example is that one of Xur's iconic lines from his Exotic vendor moments is that he says "his will is not his own," but in Dares of Eternity he uses the same line to describe the Taken's actions. There is a twofold meaning to this, considering that during Destiny 2's new activity, Xur appears to take orders from Starhorse to the point that he has to translate even "goodnight, Xur" out loud, much for the giggles of all players.
A Reddit user by the name of AttomicRose shared a post with an image attached that shows the name of one of the minibosses inside Dares of Eternity, which is Kashh'n Pryzus, Starhorse's Treasurer. Of course, the name is meant to be "cash and prizes," which is the overall theme of Dares of Eternity and Xur's loot cave, with plenty of Strange Coins and Treasure Keys dropping for players based on the difficulty tier and if they get a Lightning Round at the end. This is not the only boss in Destiny 2's 30th Anniversary Pack to have a hilarious name, though, as there are two more in the Grasp of Avarice dungeon.
The Grasp of Avarice dungeon includes some of Destiny 2's best loot, and while it's more serious in its vibes than Dares of Eternity, it still comes with funny bosses. The first players will encounter is Phry'zhia, the Insatiable, a Hive Ogre that relentlessly shoots its high-damage projectiles. The name is likely a way to say "fries you," as in, it absolutely annihilates players who stay out in the open for too long. The other comical name is that of the Shank miniboss in the dungeon's final encounter, as it goes by the name of R-M80, which is meant to read as "argh matey," in a very buccaneer-ish way.
Despite all the silly dialogue players can expect from Xur in Dares of Eternity, he is still selling Exotic armor and weapons as per usual this weekend. When players find him in one of his usual locations (the Tower's Hangar, the EDZ's Winding Cove, or Nessus' Watcher's Grave tree), Xur is still his cryptic self, and he doesn't seem to be into cracking jokes, unfortunately.
