Loads of gaming fans missed Desperados 3 when it came out in 2020, and that's a definite shame! It's been a long, long time since 2006 when Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge came out and those that love tactical stealth games will love seeing this franchise finally get an update.

With Bounty Mode out now and players able to make their own maps, tons of new players are trying out the game. Once players unlock all the characters in the game, they'll find all of the unique abilities characters have that can be used to get through levels. Not all of these abilities are as strong as the others, and players will want to be sure they know which ones are the most effective.

10 Cooper - Throw Knife

Throw Knife

Cooper's Knife Throw can come in handy as it's a great way to kill enemies. It's one of the most practical skills in the entire game and is perfect for starting players. It's strong at the beginning of the game but starts to taper off as time goes by. This is because it's a bit loud and attracts other enemies nearby, which can result in someone spotting a dead body before players can get it carried away.

9 Cooper - Coin Toss

Coin Toss

Getting enemies to an area out of sight to land a kill or simply distracting them so a teammate can walk by is incredibly useful. Coin Toss is a great option for this, but it's limited in its effectiveness. It doesn't distract enemies as long as other options which can make things a bit more difficult.

8 Hector Mendoza - Whistle

Whistle

Whistle is an excellent way to lure enemies away from their posts to distract them for a moment. It's very straightforward, making it easy for players to understand and use.

The only issue with this ability is how it only pulls the enemies toward the sound. This creates a bit of a limit on how it can be used to place traps, but it's still more versatile than Coin Toss.

7 Kate O'Hara - Flirt

Flirt

If Jessica Rabbit taught us anything, it's that a femme fatale can turn some eyes. Kate O'Hara can do just that by literally flirting with enemies. It's one of the most powerful distraction abilities in the entire game and is great for bringing enemies to remote areas. The only catch is that it requires a disguise to use, which players have to get before using the ability.

6 Hector Mendoza - Bear Trap

Bear Trap

The Bear Trap can instantly kill opponents and has fantastic chemistry with Whistle. It's incredibly easy to lure enemies to their instant demise. The only thing that could make the Bear Trap better is if Hector had more than one! Players have to make sure to go back and retrieve it after every use so they don't lose the ability to use it elsewhere.

5 Isabelle Moreau - Connect

Connect

Ever heard the phrase two birds, one stone? Connect is the epitome of the phrase! The ability literally connects two people's souls, meaning anything that affects one enemy will also affect the other. This works especially well when two enemies are very close together.

It does require teamwork to make the most use out of, making it harder to be effective if Isabelle is somehow isolated. But try taking out two enemies with a single kill and it becomes plain to see just how powerful Connect is as an ability.

4 Isabelle Moreau - Mind Control

Mind Control

Players can literally control their enemies with this ability, how cool is that? This isn't just a run of the mill mind control ray either, Isabelle's voodoo powers can completely control enemy movements. Needs some keys hidden behind a counter? Mind Control. Need that guard to walk to another room out of the way? Mind Control.

The only thing holding it back is its limited range and a lack of applicable uses. At some point, there's only so much she can make the enemy do. If they do end up too far away, or Isabelle can't get in close, the ability quickly loses its luster. Still, it's incredibly potent in the right situations and can make entire levels easier by using it right.

3 Hector Mendoza - Axe

Axe

Players don't have a sword or a bow but they certainly can have Hector's Axe! The Axe is one of the most powerful weapons and killing abilities in the game if only for one reason — it's the only weapon that can kill Long Coats. With absolutely no other way to take down these enemies, it's a vital skill for players to have and use.

2 Doc McCoy - Swamp Gas Vial

Swamp Gas Vial

There are probably better ways to go to sleep Doc! Swamp Gas Vial stuns enemies in the immediate area of the blast once the glass bottle breaks. This makes it possible, with careful planning, to take out an entire room of enemies so players don't have to fight a single one while passing through the room. Talk about a pacifist route!

If players are fast enough, they can even tie up or otherwise incapacitate enemies with the help of teammates. Just be sure to keep a careful eye on how many vials Doc has to throw, there's often only one.

1 Kate O'Hara - Disguise

Disguise

Once Kate puts on a disguise, she's practically invisible and can sneak everywhere necessary. She can walk right in front of certain enemies without them so much at batting an eye. The only exception to this is Long Coats and Security Dogs.
