Miracles in Demon's Souls allow players to do some pretty amazing things, not the least of which is healing. Though players don't have Estus Flasks like in Dark Souls, they can instead use moon grass to heal. The issue with this approach is that these are consumable items and they don't regenerate after the player dies.

Obviously, there are some pros and cons to this approach, but Demon's Souls players have another way that they can heal as well. Those wanting to distance themselves from the limitations of the moon grass should consider investing in the heal miracle, that way they can heal themselves with MP instead of items.

Miracles can also allow players to do a myriad of other actions, but they won't be able to get a talisman until after they defeat the Phalanx boss. Just from the ones sold in the shop at the Nexus, players can reduce the likelihood of getting invaded by Black Spirits, teleport themselves back to the Nexus, heal themselves, and cure poison. These are all valuable skills that don't require a heavy investment in Faith to make use of.

Demon's Souls how to get Talisman early

In order to cast these Miracles, players will need to get ahold of a talisman. The Priest and Temple Knight classes start with one, but for other classes the process is a bit more involved. A talisman can be found for free in level 4-1, but to access this, players must defeat the Phalanx and then find and speak to the Monumental. After he unlocks all the Archstones, head over to the one furthest right and teleport to the level called Island's Edge.

The Talisman of God can be looted off a corpse fairly early on in this level, but that doesn't mean it will be easy. On their way to the first fog door, players will have to face off against Silver Skeletons, some of the tougher standard mobs in Demon's Souls. These enemies are powerful, but can be taken out with ranged spells and attacks. In close combat, try and bait its melee attacks and then punish with a backstab. Altogether, players will have to defeat six of these Silver Skeletons, five with swords and one with a bow. After reaching the Fog Door, ignore the two skeleton archers above and turn right. Next to the tree is the body with the Talisman of God.

For players having trouble defeating the Silver Skeletons, they are particularly weak to bludgeoning damage and slightly more susceptive to fire attacks. Using pine resin or fire bombs can increase the player's damage a lot. Finally, be sure to lure only one at a time if possible, as it's easy to get overwhelmed by two.
