The Demon’s Souls remake is almost here and is considered one of PS5’s most anticipated launch titles. Last weekend, Sony released a surprise Demon’s Souls State of Play presentation that gave players a much better taste of what they an expect from the remake following PS5’s launch.

Now that media outlets have had the PS5 for a couple weeks now and the release date is just a handful of hours away, some outlets are starting to reveal a bit more about some of the console’s launch titles. In fact, the Japanese video game magazine Famitsu has released a video featuring the first full hour of the Demon’s Souls remake.

RELATEDPS5 Trophy lists Are Appearing Online

The video is a full VOD of Famitsu’s special PS5 live stream that took place earlier today to celebrate the upcoming launch of the PS5. The video shows the entire startup sequence for Demon’s Souls, including the settings, brightness, and contrast screens as well. Additionally, at the very start of the game players will be prompted to pick between the hearing the English or Japanese audio for Demon’s Souls. The video then shows what players can expect from the game’s intro and title screen before moving on to the game’s character creator.

Though players have seen glimpses of Demon’s Souls’ character creator before through screenshots and even the recent State of Play, the video also serves to reinforce how robust it is this time around. After the video moves on from the character creator, the first hour of gameplay begins. Players can see all the way to Demon’s Souls’ first boss and to the first hub players visit over the course of the game. Of course, players who haven’t played the original Demon’s Souls may want to avoid this video out of fear for potential spoilers.

Still, Famitsu’s video may also prove a good resource for those unfamiliar with the Souls series, so it may just end up selling some on the experience. Fair warning for new players to the Souls series: Demon’s Souls doesn’t have difficult options. The Souls series is known for its difficulty, and Demon’s Souls is no slouch in that department compared to the other entries in the series. Though there have been plenty of debates on whether or not the series should add difficulty options, Bluepoint seems adamant that there shouldn’t be any major changes to the difficult in the remake.

Seeing as the PS5 will be available to a huge amount of players tomorrow, that seems about everything players need to know about Demon’s Souls before it’s in their hands. Before long, embargoes will have lifted and there is going to be plenty of creator coverage around the internet featuring game’s like Demon’s Souls and Miles Morales. The choice between which game players are going to dive into on launch day first is no doubt going to be a tough one. Though after seeing Famitsu’s first hour of gameplay, Demon’s Souls looks like a great choice.
