There are a lot of glitches in the Demon's Souls Remake. Some of them let players skip through various levels, while others let players duplicate items. The Cat Ring glitch lets players get to different areas without getting damaged.

Some players have used this glitch to skip different parts of the game, while others have used it to access items early so their character can be overpowered when facing early bosses. Whatever the reasoning for using this glitch, it is one that players should be careful about. Doing it in the wrong area can end up getting the player stuck somewhere they don't want to be. Here's how to use it right.

Get The Cat Ring

Demon's Souls Swamp of Sorrow

Obviously, the first step to performing this glitch is to obtain the Cat Ring. This can be done in two ways (though the second is ridiculous). The ring can be obtained from world 5-2, the Swamp of Sorrow. It is located to the left of the first fog gate and is guarded by a black phantom wielding the Cleaver.

The other way to get this ring is to buy it from Patches. Of course, this route is extremely expensive, as Patches charges a whopping 40,000 Souls for this item. It's fairly safe to say that nobody will pay that price.

Go To An Area With Solid Ground

This glitch can only be performed from an area that has solid ground underneath the player. This is because the glitch requires the player to die. Essentially, the player will jump from a high-up area, and as long as there is solid ground, they will live.

This glitch works in various places, but it is mainly used to get below the heart in Latria early so that players can grab the items underneath.

Fall And Quit

Once a player is at an area with solid ground, they need to jump off the ledge to their death. When they fall, they should have the menu pulled up and ready to quit the game. Be careful not to perform this glitch with a ton of Souls.

As soon as the player character hits the ground, quit the game. This will get players back to the menu. Now, relaunch the game, and the player's character should be standing at the bottom of the area, completely unscathed by the massive drop they just performed.

Why This Glitch Works

This glitch is possible because of the way that Bluepoint designed the menu in the Demon's Souls Remake. Notice that in every other Souls game, the menu is designed to automatically close if the player dies. This prevents them from quitting out if they die.

In the Demon's Souls Remake, the menu stays open for a brief period when the player dies. Thanks to this, players can quit the game before it has time to save the information that they died.
