With the release of the Demon's Souls Remake, many players new and old have discovered the freshly designed difficulty that Bluepoint has added. Like every Souls game, Demon's Souls requires the currency of Souls to buy items, upgrade weapons, and level up.

It can be hard to get Souls, especially when each level requires more and as items get rarer, merchants ask for more. As the game's difficulty gets harder and dying becomes easier, Souls are harder to get and harder to maintain. That is why Soul farming locations are great to know about.

Updated September 16, 2021, By Aden Carter: Since Demon's Souls was released there has been a rise in the number of people playing it and other Souls games. Of course, players are also excited for the upcoming Souls game, Elden Ring.

It's been a while since Demon's Souls was last updated and the hope for DLC is dwindling. For now, players will need to accept the game as it is. Hopefully, Bluepoint will be able to bring in the 6th Archstone and offer players an entirely new location and story segment. Until then, there is still plenty to look forward to for the Souls series.

12 Red-Eye Knight

The first area of the game outside of the tutorial has a Red Eye Knight. This knight sits at the top of the castle walls in the Gates of Boleteria Archstone or 1-1 for the old school players. The Red Eye Knight here may seem scary and can definitely take a player out in one or two hits, but like the black knight at the beginning of Dark Souls, he can easily be backstabbed.

When the Red Eye Knight comes charging, hold up a shield, and let the attack bounce off. Now go around his back and give him a good backstab. It will take a couple of hits, but each kill will net an early game player around 2,000 Souls.

11 Shrine Of Storms

The beginning area of the Shrine of Storms is one of the best places to gather souls early. From the start of the first Archstone, players will find eight skeletons on their way up to the other side of the castle wall.

These skeletons can take some practice to beat, but if a player runs up and grabs the Crescent Falchion by the black skeleton it will make life easier. To get access to the Crescent Falchion, get past the initial five skeletons on the stairs and go into the doorway on the left of the castle wall. Follow the tunnel and make a left when it opens up into the tower.

10 Fat Officials

Demon's Souls fat official enemy with axe

Early game players can take advantage of three Fat Officials at the beginning of the Smithing Grounds. They are positioned in three separate spots away from one another so it is a bit of a hike. Run into the first tower and take the elevator on the right.

This will lead to the first Official. Come back down and continue through the area. The second Official is positioned in a room that three wolves run out of. The last official is a little farther in. Take the path from the room the second Official is in and follow it until it leads back outside into the cavern. He is located at the end of a small bridge. Run along the left edge of the bridge and take him out.

9 Archstone Of The Chieftain

Players who would like to farm Souls early on can make a quick stop in the Valley of Defilement to gain some extra souls. Players who can withstand the strength of the enemies can stock up on Souls here. The easiest way to farm here is to grab the Dragon Long Sword after the Armor Spider boss.

After the Armor Spider, players can make some jumps down the chasm down the right path. This will lead to a system of tunnels that houses the Dragon Long Sword +1.

8 Armor Spider Archstone

Another great earlier farming spot is right after the Armor Spider Boss. Players either take the elevator on the left or drop down the chasm on the right. Either way down will take players to an area filled with Giant Bearbugs and Rock Worms.

A quick strike to the head of a Rock Worm will deal a large chunk of damage or possibly kill it. Bearbugs take a little longer to kill, but they will also net players over a thousand Souls per kill. These enemies will explode when killed, so players will need to make sure to jump out of the way.

7 Prison Of Hope

Mid-game, players will reach the Prison of Hope. Some players may also enter this area early. This is a decent place to farm souls. Each Mind Flayer will net players a few hundred Souls each and they are all over the prison.

Once the entire prison is unlocked, the prison is easy to navigate. Players can then rapidly run through the map and kill the Mind Flayers. They can then end their run at the Fool's Idol boss arena and teleport back to the start to make the run again.

6 Reaper

This spot takes a little bit to get to, but players will be happy they did. The Reapers are located just past the second Archstone in the Shrine of Storms. Kill the first boss of the area, the Adjudicator, to reach the second Archstone. Once players make it there, progress forward until a button activates a doorway.

This doorway leads into a large ritual room where a Reaper spawns along with a bunch of ghost enemies. Players who are equipped with a bow can easily snipe the Reaper from afar. If a sword is used, run along the top platform avoiding the ghosts, and drop down behind the Reaper. Pull a shield to protect against the inevitable first hit and then go to town. Reapers aren't hard to kill.

5 The Storm King

Demon's Souls Storm King boss flying through air

The Storm King boss is extremely easy, probably the easiest boss in the game. What makes this boss better is the numerous flying enemies found in the fight. These enemies are smaller versions of the Storm King and offer a decent amount of Souls per kill. When entering the fight, run down to the bottom and grab the Storm Ruler.

Once a player has that, equip it, and take down the boss. After killing the boss, come back to the room and reap the rewards by constantly killing the smaller Storm Beasts that still reside there. Simply run off a nearby cliff to repeat the process, but don't forget to grab your Souls.

4 Old Hero Archstone

Demon's Souls Old Hero Boss in room with statues

Near the Old Hero Archstone is a room full of white slugs. Now, these slugs don't drop many Souls, but what does are the Reaper and black Phantom Skeleton. What makes this even better is if players have access to the Soulsucker spell.

This doubles the number of Souls gained from an enemy killed with it. Using this method, players can net tens of thousands of Souls. To get Soulsucker players will need to beat the game first. Killing the Reapers can be done very easily if players have access to a strong bow. The main Reaper that players will be killing resides on the first floor of the first room and is easily seen from the entrance. Players can shoot it with a bow to get it done quickly and then return to the Archstone to refresh the world.

3 Penetrator Archstone

This is recommended for late-game Soul farming as it takes a while to gain access to the Penetrator boss fight. Once players beat the Penetrator, they can warp back to the Archstone and gain access to an easy Soul farming location.

Leading up to the Penetrator boss room are three Red Eye Knights. Each one of these will net the player a fair number of Souls. They are also extremely close to the Archstone and can easily be killed using magic or a bow.

2 Blue Eye Knight Farm

Early on, players will most likely come across the Tower Knight boss. The trek to this boss involves dodging a red dragon's flames and killing some Blue Eye Knights. After defeating the Tower Knight, players can return to the boss arena and farm the two Blue Eye Knights to get a fair amount of souls for the early game.

Each run will net players around 1,000 souls and can be done very rapidly thanks to how close the Archstone is. Of course, players can get more souls by running to the Prison of Hope before the fight and collecting the Ring of Avarice from the vendor in the area. This area also has the Silver Bracelets which will get them even more souls.

1 Black Phantom Mind Flayer

This one takes a bit of prep but it will be worth it in the end. Players need to head to the Prison of Hope and pick up the Silver Bracelets. Players will also want to stop at the vendor in this area to grab the Ring of Avarice. Lastly, players will need to unlock Yuria the Witch and learn the spells Soul Thirst and Soulsucker.

Head over to the Throne Room of Yormedaar Archstone. This is also the boss room that players fight the Old Monk. With pure black world tendency, a Black Phantom Mind Flayer will appear right outside the door to the boss room. Activating Soul Thirst and then killing the Mind Flayer with Soulsucker will net the player just over 26,000 souls. This can be done very rapidly and get players tons of souls in a short amount of time.

Demon's Souls Remastered was released on November 19, 2020, and is available on PlayStation 5 only.
