Demon’s Souls is not an easy game by any means. The PS5 remaster of the game that started the “souls-like” genre of incredibly difficult titles by From Software came out just a few weeks ago, but already Demon’s Souls has been beaten without taking a single hit by a Twitch streamer. The question remains what fans should do when someone else has already done the impossible, and another streamer's answer is to try and beat the game with a dance pad.

Using controllers like a dance pad or a Ring Fit device as a controller for games outside their intended purpose isn’t a new idea, as players have been adding bizarre challenges to make games like Demon’s Souls even harder than they already are for years. However, new games mean new opportunities.

Twitch streamer Luality has been one of the masters of the dance pad for some time, having most recently beaten all of Dark Souls 3 with just a level 1 character and a dance pad. Now she has moved onto the next-gen title, and has already beaten all of Demon’s Souls with a Dance Dance Revolution pad on her Twitch channel.

Luality said that the entire Demon's Souls run is viewable on her archived Twitch videos, where fans can also get a look at her adorable pet bunny. She said that she will also be uploading the run in smaller chunks to her YouTube channel. In one such clip, she takes on the Flamelurker in the depths of The Tunnel City and manages to defeat it with only a couple of hits taken.

The real challenge, she said, was setting up the dance pad to work with the PS5, as she jokes that getting it to work with the new system was harder than playing through the entirety of Demon's Souls with it. As it turns out, not all PS4-era accessories are compatible with the PS5 and getting some accessories to work may take more finagling than others.

In terms of other unique accomplishments relating to the PS5 remaster, YouTuber Super Louis 64 recently managed to play Demon’s Souls utilizing the bongo controllers from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. That accessory, which was originally designed to work with the Nintendo GameCube, took a great deal of reworking too, but his experience getting them to work in order to play and beat Sekiro Shadows Die Twice helped prepare him for the task.

Demon's Souls is available now on PlayStation 5.
