Demon Slayer is an anime known for its beautiful animation and amazing fighting scenes. These scenes are always exciting and mesmerizing to watch, but the anime has much more to offer to its fans than just impressive visuals. The storyline and characters can also be as astounding in their own way and definitely deserve recognition.
Despite Zenitsu's usual cowardly behavior, he does have some redeeming moments in which he acts and fights heroically, which can often leave Demon Slayer fans speechless. Zenitsu proves time and time again that he is worthy of the Demon Slayer title and keeps showing his true potential by fighting for what he believes in. These are Zenitsu's most awesome moments in the Demon Slayer anime so far.
6 When He Protected Tanjiro's Box
In episode 13 of the first season, Tanjiro emerges from the Tsuzumi Mansion to find Zenitsu hugging his box to protect it from the boy wearing the boar head. Zenitsu is getting beaten up to a pulp, but stands firmly against Inosuke and is even willing to sacrifice his life to save the demon that Tanjiro is carrying.
Although he knew that Tanjiro was carrying a demon, he heard earlier that his friend valued the box more than his own life, which was enough of a reason to trust him. Therefore, Nezuko was saved by Zenitsu's bravery and quick thinking. He may have gotten injured, but it was an awesome moment for fans to witness.
5 When He Confronted Daki
In season 2 of Demon Slayer, a new demon who calls herself Daki gets introduced to the gang. Daki has no patience and gets angry over futile matters. Zenitsu hears a resident of the house crying and investigates to see if it's one of Uzui's wives. He finds a young girl in a messy room that belongs to Daki. Soon after, Daki appears and is annoyed to find her room is still unclean with a stranger there.
Zenitsu instantly knows she's a demon, freezes in fear but does not run. When Daki takes the girl by the ear, Zenitsu reaches for Daki's arm and orders her to let go of the child. This confidence and lack of fear in an "awake" Zenitsu is always surprising and fun to see, which is why this moment ranks among Zenitsu's most awesome ones. Fans just loved seeing him stand up against the femme fatale.
4 When He Fought Against The Tongue Monster
In episode 12 of the first season, Zenitsu faints when the Tongue Monster reveals his deadly plans. As he lay there unconscious, the boy Shoichi hides behind him and tries to wake him up. Just as the demon's tongue lunges at them, the tip of its tongue gets sliced off by Zenitsu's Nichirin sword.
Zenitsu acted in such a quick manner that fans barely saw him move. Then he killed the Tongue Demon with one perfect blow to its neck. It was the first time in the series that fans had ever seen Zenitsu show that he is more than just a crybaby and that he can be awesome when he really wants to.
3 When He Fought Against The Spider Demon
In episode 17 of the first season, Zenitsu is horrified by the fact that he will be turning into one of the Spider Demon's slaves. As he sits in a tree crying, he eventually faints when he realizes that his hair is falling out and falls out of the tree. However, he lands perfectly on his feet and unleashes his Thunder Breathing First Form: Thunder Clap and Flash Technique over and over again.
Although Zenitsu only knows one skill, he remembers his trainer's words: "hone one skill to the utmost perfection". Zenitsu does exactly that and takes his Thunder Breathing Technique into the sixth fold, managing to overcome his fear and behead the Spider Demon as a result. This is one of the scenes where Zenitsu showed fans just how awesome he can really be and how much potential he actually has.
2 When He Protected Nezuko On The Mugen Train
In the movie Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, the train and its passengers have been taken hostage by Lower Rank One Demon Emnu, who even fuses with the train at one point. Nezuko, who is awake at that time, tries to fight off parts of Emnu and protect the rest of the passengers, but Emnu's "body" overwhelms her by pinning her to the ground.
Zenitsu "awakes" from his dream state while still remaining asleep and saves her. This precise moment is when Nezuko sees Zenitsu for the hero he actually is, and she is quite stunned by his amazing Thunder Breathing Technique. Once again, his skills show that he has immense potential for growth and even more awesome scenes to come.
1 When He Fought Against Daki And Gyutaro
In the massive finale of the second season, Zenitsu and Inosuke arrive to help Tanjiro and Uzui takedown Daki and her brother, Gyutaro. As he engages in a fight with Daki, he proves to be just as powerful as her with his Thunder Breathing Technique. Although he's not quite able to take her down, he resists her while putting on an amazing display of swordsmanship. He never backs down, not even when he gets injured.
The most awesome moment of the series so far is when he coordinates an attack on Daki with Tanjiro and Inosuke, and, together, they succeed in beheading her. The visuals, color palette, animation, and soundtrack make this scene even more exciting than usual and breathtaking to watch.
