There isn’t a hotter anime movie out there than Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train considering its release in Japan broke box office records worldwide. Unfortunately for US fans the movie won't come until 2021. For those starving for any little detail, a hit song featured in Demon Slayer Mugen Train hit YouTube with the expected viral result.

The honor of delivering a killer anthem to Demon Slayer Mugen Train belongs to Japansese pop star LiSA who released a music video of her song “Homura.” The track serves as the theme song for Mugen Train, which raked in $44 million opening weekend making it the best performing film in the world.

LiSA achieved a milestone of her own when the YouTube video of “Homura” broke 10 million views just a week after its release. She acknowledged the feat with a tweet and graphic thanking her fans.

LiSA is a popular figure in Japanese pop music, but outside that realm her music is synonymous with the Demon Slayer franchise. Before “Homura” there was her single “Gurenge,” which became the opening theme for the Demon Slayer TV anime. The music video YouTube clip for that song has 57 million views after 16 months.

The music for Demon Slayer and the work by LiSA is popular among anime fans in general. “Gurenge” cracked a top-30 list of top anime songs of all-time put together by TV Asahi and its success mirrored the anime it opened for in 2019. The Demon Slayer TV anime was one of the most popular titles that year and with the Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie on track to be a global success “Homura” might be yet another ear worm not soon forgotten in 2021.

Demon Slayer Mugen Train has proven to be global phenomenon and for those in the US curious about what exactly makes this movie so good, its music may be a piece of that puzzle.

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train movie releases in the US in 2021.
