Cosplay creator Delaney has pulled off a very impressive look for MegaCon. Delaney chose to embody and replicate the character of Mitsuri Kanroji, hailing from one of the most popular anime and manga series, Demon Slayer. Mitsuri is hard to embody, particularly because her presence in the show sets her apart from the rest of the characters. She is one of the only characters who are special and the show lets it be known through her appearance.

She isn’t confined to one outfit like the other Demon Slayer characters and is granted even more individuality through her appearance alone. Mitsuri is considered odd, passionate, and shy by nature, which are all characteristics that make it harder for her to connect to others and find a romantic partner. The 97th leader of the Demon Slayer Corps noticed her differences and proudly advised her to reject the normal societal standards and expectations, to fully accept herself. She quickly becomes one of the most powerful demon slayers in the corps, especially due to her command of her sword.

Delaney created a 3D-printed sword, complete with Mitsuri’s typical black, pink, and blue aesthetic. The Demon Slayer cosplay features Mitsuri’s typical black uniform at the top. She is one of the only characters who doesn’t wear the typical hakama pants. Instead, she sports a black pleated mini skirt.

Delaney did this justice, zooming in on every last detail of the skirt's form and shape. Up top, her cape is snow-white, draped like a kimono over her shoulders. The socks are possibly the only place where the Demon Slayer cosplay fell a bit short. Delaney did have the long thigh-high green socks, but it was leaning a bit more towards a forest green rather than the neon slime green color that Mitsuri wears. In the same vein, Mitsturi also has the top of her socks stand out with a navy blue.

Delaney’s is a much lighter, baby blue. However, that’s really only noticeable if someone is trying to look for something that is off, as it is a minor detail. Other than the color being a bit off on the socks, Delaney’s Demon Slayer cosplay is more than astounding and accurate. She nailed the details of the wig, which is a bubblegum pink in two braids. The braids towards the bottom also have a green at the ends, and that is placed subtly in her bangs as well. Overall, Delaney brought forth how much Mitsuri’s outer appearance represents her inner world and is one of the main symbols of her authenticity.
