Demon Slayer has quickly skyrocketed up the popularity charts to become one of the most beloved anime series around. It's a testament to what great animation and production skills are capable of, with a decently popular manga becoming the biggest modern shonen series of all time simply because of the amazing work Ufotable did during its adaptation.

Demon Slayer is a pretty gory title, and there are many people with high body counts in the series who relish the act of killing people. While the demon slayers try their hardest to prevent these diabolical villains from killing innocent humans, the fact is that certain characters have been quite brutal, killing numerous people to fuel their hunger. Here are the characters from Demon Slayer who have the highest body count in the series.

10 Muzan Kibutsuji

Demon Slayer, Muzan

It's obvious that the king of all demons would have the highest kill count in Demon Slayer. Muzan wastes no time in letting people know that he's ruthless and will murder people just to satiate himself.

The heartless manner in which he killed all the Lower Moons after Rui's failure was a testament to just how sadistic Muzan really is. Fans can't wait to see him getting his just desserts by the end of Demon Slayer.

9 Kokushibo

Kokushibo in Demon Slayer

The practitioner of Moon Breathing who decided to become a demon to enhance his power is one of the vilest and most brutal characters in Demon Slayer. He's also pretty old, meaning that he's killed several humans for sustenance over the course of his lifespan.

Given his ties to the origin of Sun Breathing, it'll be fun to see his clash with Tanjiro and how this form of Sun Breathing works against the brother of the demon slayer who formed this style in the first place. Given how many people Kokushibo has killed, it's only a given that karma is going to catch up to him.

8 Akaza

Demon Slayer, Akaza

Akaza's appearance in the series was pretty memorable, with the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku engaging in an epic cash with him near the end of the Mugen Train arc. It was a battle with a foregone conclusion since Akaza was simply on a different plane in terms of raw power.

Akaza's death count is massive, which is easy to assume given that he's one of the oldest humans in existence. Fans can't wait to see the demon slayers get revenge against him for the loss of one of their closest compatriots.

7 Doma

Doma in Demon Slayer (1)

Doma's introduction in the series has been pretty chilling indeed. Not only is he a bloodthirsty maniac, but he's also directly responsible for the death of Kanae Kocho, the elder sister of both Shinbu and Kanao Tsuyuri.

It's clear that both these characters have a bone to pick with Doma, who has been killing humans indiscriminately for quite some time. Given how high his body count is, it's only a matter of time before he has to pay for his sins.

6 Hantengu

Hantengu in Demon Slayer (1)

Hantengu is a pretty vile character who had no qualms with murdering people even before he turned into a demon. As a result, it's easy to see why he's an easy inclusion in a list where body counts are the major focus.

After transforming into a demon, Hantengu wasted no time in devouring as many innocent humans as possible. Given that he's one of the antagonists of the Swordsmith Village arc, fans can't wait to see how powerful this demon is.

5 Gyokko

Gyokko in Demon Slayer (1)

Gyokko is the other member of the Upper-Rank Kizuki who will appear as an antagonist during the Swordsmith Village arc. His powers involve using pots, which may not seem all that impressive but can be pretty damaging if used correctly.

Since he's an old demon, it's only a given that Gyokko has killed his fair share of humans to satiate his thirst. He's a vile demon just like the rest of them, and the demon slayers will be itching to put this demon to rest after all the atrocities he's committed.

4 Tamayo

Demon Slayer, Tamayo

Tamayo is a demon who appeared around the same time as Muzan. However, after living a long and bloodthirsty life as a demon, she decided to fight back against these vile urges and has now become one of the few good-hearted demons around.

However, this doesn't change the fact that her past is shrouded in murder and death. Thankfully, it seems that she's atoning for her sins after realizing the monstrous nature of her actions.

3 Enmu

demon slayer enmu

Enmu was the major antagonist of the Mugen Train arc, making it clear for everyone to see why he's such a vile demon. He had no problems with devouring an entire train of humans, apparently doing it multiple times before Tanjiro, Rengoku, and the rest of the gang stopped him in his tracks.

After a grueling battle, Tanjiro whipped out an impromptu Sun Breathing technique to destroy this demon once and for all. His death was a boon for humanity, although Akaza's subsequent appearance halted the celebrations for good.

2 Daki & Gyutaro

Demon SLayer Entertainment District Season 2 Daki and Gyutaro

Since both demons shared the same body, it's fair to say that both Daki and Gyutaro should share their body count. To no one's surprise, this duo has killed several innocents during their run as the Upper-Rank Six.

Thankfully, Tengen Uzui and his entourage put a stop to the reign of terror perpetuated by the brother and sister, ending their lives and freeing the entertainment district from their atrocities. Many innocent people in this area would finally be able to live in peace without worrying about dying any second.

1 Rui

Rui in Demon Slayer

Rui is the toughest challenge Tanjiro faced before encountering the Hashira. This Lower Rank Five demon was a twisted child who became a demon at an early age and decided to forge a perfect family of his own after killing off his real parents in a moment of rage.

Tanjiro's battle against Rui awakened the latent Sun Breathing inside him, with the former using his father's movements to cut through Rui's tough threads and put him down for the count. While this attempt was thwarted by Rui, Giyu Tomioka came to the rescue in the eleventh hour and made short work of this demon.
