First and foremost among these are the series of short films that are being released by Ubisoft in association with Hybrid Technologies. As mentioned  Game Rant’s report by John Jacques last week, the first installment in the series was very well done. The fight choreography was reminiscent of Errol Flynn swashbuckling, King Leonidas of 300 and Altair’s Hidden blade work all wrapped into one! I can’t wait to see how the hidden blades are used in combat in the new game!

Second, the official Assassin’s Creed 2 website is one of the finer game websites I’ve seen around. There are tons of fun things to look at and I’m especially happy with the widget I’m posted on my facebook profile.

A quick search also revealed lots of articles about the fantastic realism that the developers are bringing to the game. Some of the buildings in Florence are recreated with photographic detail, making wonder where the hand holds will be for Ezio to track his next victim. I’m wondering if I start doing my pushups and chinups now and book a ticket to Italy maybe I can start free running too! Or maybe I’ll just pre-order the game. Also, the simple addition of the ability to swim will allow us all to avoid unnecessary deaths time and time again. Does anyone else remember the harbour mission in Acre in AC1?

Does the lack of a demo really change anything for this brand name and developer?

Assassin’s Creed 2 hits shelves November 17th and Game Rant will be playing it to give you the details.
