Last week, Nintendo was forced to postpone one of their Nintendo Directs due to an earthquake striking Hokkaido, Japan. That Direct has now been rumored to be rescheduled to this Thursday at 3PM PDT / 6PM ET, exactly one week after the original scheduled time slot.

The latest Nintendo Direct is planned to focus on upcoming Nintendo Switch and 3DS titles. It will likely also discuss Nintendo’s upcoming online service which is set to launch later this month.

The rumor comes from Nintendo Life, which has predicted other Nintendo Direct dates in the past, though certain Twitter accounts have shed more evidence on the speculated date by also bringing up rumors as to what’s to be featured. Also, the Twitter account for the Japanese only Switch title Platinum Train has stated that the game has a “surprise announcement” coming Thursday, possibly indicating that a Western release could be in the works.

Fans have been begging for a new Animal Crossing game since the Switch launched last year, and even though a trademark has been filed for a new title in the series, Nintendo has been pretty silent in regards to the future of the series. Regardless, it seems like an Animal Crossing announcement is also on the horizon, though it might not be what Switch owners were hoping for.

Animal Crossing’s official UK account posted a tweet hinting at what’s to come likely for the games mobile counterpart Pocket Camp and an image which can be seen further above. The neon pink and green likely hint to some sort of Splatoon and Animal Crossing crossover of sorts, but it won’t be certain what this image means until more information is released.

Quite a few games were revealed last Thursday when the Nintendo Direct was originally supposed to air, with one of the bigger announcements being Civilization 6's release on Switch. Even the speculated name of Yoshi’s upcoming game has been leaked, which might end up being called Yoshi’s Crafted World. Nintendo fans probably shouldn’t expect any new information on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, though, considering we got a whole Direct teeming with new information last month. However, Nintendo has been known to slowly roll out new tidbits of information over time.

Whether or not the rumored date for the latest Nintendo Direct is true or not, Nintendo fans should be getting a lot of new information soon for future Nintendo Switch and 3DS titles.

The latest Nintendo Direct is speculated to air September 13 at 3PM PDT.
