Deepfake videos continue to be the best way for fans to get those dream casting choices that were never realized, they’re the type of “what if” scenarios that range anywhere between hilarious jokes to informal job applications for deepfake master Shamook, who’s just swapped Jason Bourne with another member of Danny Ocean’s gang.

YouTube sensation Shamook first went viral in late 2020, when his own deepfake of Mark Hamill in The Mandalorian bested the efforts of Disney’s own animators, eventually helping him clinch a job at Lucasfilm’s effects division, Industrial Light Magic. However, since last summer Shamook’s new gig has not stopped him from working on his own passion projects, like his Spider-Man deepfakes before No Way Home eventually became 2021’s hottest film this past December.

This time around, Shamook steps away from the world of superheroes to seamlessly blend Brad Pitt into the Bourne saga, a role that at one point was rumored to be meant for the actor instead of Matt Damon. Although the clip comes with a short disclaimer for its author, saying this is actually older work left on his hard drive that might not be up to par with his latest tricks, the results are nonetheless quite impressive.

The video sees Shamook mostly use clips from Jason Bourne’s youngest days in The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy, with Pitt and his Ocean's Eleven and Twelve co-star looking just like they did back then. Damon is seven years younger than Pitt, and despite Shamook not specifying where the latter's footage comes from, one would have a hard time figuring out Brad Pitt wasn’t Jason Bourne all along.

Among the most recent additions in Shamook’s impressive deepfake portfolio is a Tomb Raider throwback, with Angelina Jolie claiming her role back from Alicia Vikander; as well as a preview of what Robert Pattinson might look like as Batman, though the latter is less impressive as more trailer footage from The Batman coming out. All things considered, maybe might be busier nowadays after The Book of Boba Fett released and Lucasfilm continues to work on new Star Wars content for Disney Plus for the foreseeable future.

Luckily for him, The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett hit the sweetspot as far as spinoffs are concerned, but anyone not feeling those or any upcoming series can always find consolation in the many Star Wars video games out there.
