Trinkets are very useful items in Deathloop, which allow players to improve their weapons and characters in a variety of different ways. While fans will come across an assortment of Trinkets simply through exploring the districts of Blackreef Island and dispatching enemies, the way that these items are used may not be immediately obvious. Fortunately, it is quite easy to equip Trinkets in Deathloop, and this guide contains full details on the process.
How to Equip Trinkets in Deathloop
To get right to it, Trinkets are equipped through the Loadout menu, which players can access from the tunnel between missions. Indeed, players will see a “Loadout” option on the left side of their screens when they are choosing the district that Deathloop’s protagonist will go to next, and selecting it will take fans to a menu that allows them to switch out their gear. Upon reaching this menu, players must decide if they would like to equip a Character Trinket or a Weapon Trinket, as they are not handled in exactly the same way.
More specifically, a Character Trinket in Deathloop is equipped by selecting one of the four diamonds that appear to the left of Colt’s equipment and then picking it. And with respect to Weapon Trinkets, those are applied by hovering over the gun of interest and pressing the input that appears next to “Trinkets.” When that is done, players should click on a Trinket slot and select the desired item to give the weapon increased accuracy, decrease the time it takes to reload, and more.
To note, both Character and Weapon Trinkets behave like the other equipment in the game and are lost when the day comes to an end. However, players can prevent this from occurring by infusing a Trinket with Residuum in Deathloop, and that can also be done through the Loadout menu. It does take quite a bit of Residuum to retain a Trinket, though, and fans may want to hold onto the resource until they obtain some high-rarity items.
To say a few words about the rarity of Trinkets, they come in Crude, Sleek, and Exemplar quality. These qualities are color-coded as grey, blue, and purple respectively, and the effects granted by Trinkets become more powerful as the rarity increases. That means that Exemplar Trinkets can provide very powerful benefits when equipped, and Deathloop players should definitely consider spending Residuum to take them into subsequent loops.
