The developers behind Deathloop claim that there is still one major secret that players are yet to find. Which is a rather surprising claim to make considering that Deathloop has been out for over 3 weeks. In the modern era this is generally enough time for players to delve into every nook and cranny a title has to offer thanks to the power of the internet.

Deathloop level designer, Julien Eveillé, however, claims that players have still not found this one major secret. Granted, there is a vast amount of ground to cover in Deathloop within the four different time periods and four different areas. Thus, there is a lot of hidden content in Deathloop for those who are willing to venture off the beaten path.

Solving this mystery unfortunately does not seem to be as straightforward as merely exploring the map of Deathloop. If this was the case, the secret would probably already have been found by now. In response to a fan regarding the secret, Eveillé said: "It's a way bigger consequence to a way bigger event that can only happen if you made it happen. Also, the cause and the consequence aren't on the same map!" This goes along with the theme of how confusing Deathloop can be at times.

Eveillé did not offer much more to point players in the right direction, most likely to keep up the mystique surround this secret. The developer's tweet stated that he mainly worked on the level Updaam during the region's noon and afternoon time periods. This may be an irrelevant factor in uncovering the whereabouts of this secret, however, many Deathloop players consider Updaam to be the most important level in the game.

According to Eveillé when the secret is found it will be very obvious to point out. "This secret thing isn't that hidden, it's actually very 'on the nose' but is relying on a series of -not that obvious- odds," This means that anyone that is currently playing through Deathloop's storyline that finds themselves rooted in a 'not so obvious' chain of events, keep an eye out for secrets hidden in plain sight. This is, however, easier said than done as Deathloop has many different random encounters and events throughout it's playtime

Arkane studios has thus stayed true to form with Deathloop as the Dishonored and Prey series also included many secrets and hidden easter eggs that were only uncovered some time after release. Stealth, fast-paced FPS mechanics and secrets seem to be some of the developers strong suits.

Deathloop is available for PC and PS5.
