Saying that Charlie Montague from Deathloop is a troubled individual is putting it mildly. He's obsessed with creating an interactive sci-fi experience, hopelessly in love with and concerned about another visionary, and it's unclear, even to himself, why he signed up to be part of the loop.

Oh, and part of his brain is inside of a computer he created that recognizes events without forgetting anything when the loop resets. The poor kid doesn't have it together and Colt exploits more than one of his flaws to beat Deathloop. One of these flaws, in particular, makes getting rid of him a snap.

Charlie is hiding out at the makeshift tourist attraction called Condition Detachment. It's like a sci-fi haunted house. Players eager to skip battling most of Charlie's minions can use the Shift slab to get to the top, but fighting through it isn't all the difficult. There are lots of health stations and ammo to pick up along the way.

Deathloop Charlie's Shack From The Rooftops

Unless players have taken a few licks combating at enemy Juliana, they'll arrive at the top without much trouble. Charlie has a bunch of laser mines surrounding his small shack, which can be disabled stealthily or loudly (it won't matter). Once entering the door, Carlie will automatically run into the Condition Detachment attraction, even if he never sees Colt.

Deathloop Hacking A Turret Inside Charlie's Shack From The Outside

His Shift slab makes him dart all over the house, going between floors rapidly. Fighting him is a fool's errand so make it easy on Colt by hacking the turrets in his shack without opening the door. He's no match for these automated weapons and his Shift slab won't help him here.

The Best Way To Kill Charlie

Deathloop Completing The Afternoon Delight Visionary Lead
  • Complete the "Afternoon Delight" visionary lead.
  • Visit Fristrad Rock in the afternoon.
  • Go to the underground bunker.
  • Turn on the water.

By completing the "Afternoon Delight" visionary lead, Charlie becomes much easier to kill. Even better, he'll be with another visionary who is, herself, also much easier to kill with this method. Head to the underground bunker but do not pick up any residuum or special weapons along the way.

Deathloop Code Displayed In The Air On The Data Cassette Puzzle

After entering the code, Colt will see the two lovebirds talking about Fia's drug problem. Both are powerful and both have their slabs fully functional, so it's best to avoid engaging them directly. Instead, stealthily climb to the top of the area and pull the lever in the control room.

Deathloop Pulling The Lever To Fill Up The Underground Bunker

This will flood the area, killing both visionaries. As a player, it's possible to escape, but if Colt dies in the flood, he'll be returned to safety at the front of the bunker. Now it's safe for Colt to pick up any residuum or special weapons since he won't have lost anything in the flood.

Deathloop was released on September 14, 2021, and is available on PC and PlayStation 5.
