The main goal of Deathloop is to kill all the Visionaries populating Blackreef in order to end the constantly repeating day. The game generally gives a straightforward way to do this, but players still have to discover and learn about the Visionaries individually.

Fortunately, they are all such abysmal people that it is not difficult to end them. The following list ranks them not by likability, but instead how interesting their personality is and how fun it is to interact with them in Deathloop. By the end of the player's time with the game, they'll have killed most of them several times over.

9 Egor

Egor is the least interesting of the characters and is so hated by the rest of the Visionaries that players almost feel bad for him. One can kill him in the evening in the Complex or ruin his experiments early in the day, forcing him to go to Aleksis' party. The one plus is his Slab power. With Aether, stealth becomes much easier. The boss fight against him is also pretty fun if Colt fights him at night in the Complex.

8 Harriet

Harriet is the leader of a small cult on Blackreef and kills the same group of people every morning. What a terrible way to go for those poor souls. It is hard to have thoughts about her either way because players kill her exclusively at the start of the day. The actual boss fight and figuring out how to sneak behind her is pretty fun. Her Slab power, Nexus, is extremely useful in gameplay and it is worth killing her several times over for the upgrades.

7 Wenjie

Killing Wenjie at her lab in The Complex is an interesting gameplay challenge. She has numerous copies of herself walking around and Colt basically has to kill all of them to eliminate the target here. Being a smart and well-mannered scientist, she almost reminds one of the Luteces from BioShock Infinite. Once Colt has 2-Bit make an invitation for her, she will be at Aleksis' party every night without fail.

6 Fia

Fia is an artist and romantically involved with Charlie. She, along with Charlie, is involved with one of the most complicated puzzles of the main story. If she spots Colt while he is in her bunker finding the pictograms, she sets off a nuclear bomb that decimates the island.

It is also fun to see her interaction with Charlie once players unlock their secret room. Then, flooding the area and taking out both is a blast.

5 Charlie

Charlie is a game designer and numerous quests and bonus activities revolve around his challenges. He is killable at noon in Updaam or with Fia in The Complex. One of the most elaborate Arsenal Leads is at Karl's Bay at night when earning the Heritage Gun. The game he sets up in Updaam is also a nice challenge to sneak through. Shift, Charlie's Slab power, is incredibly useful when navigating the levels, especially when combined with the Spring Heeled Trinket.

4 Frank

Frank's voice echoes throughout most of Blackreef. Depending on one's actions during the day, at night he will either put on a dashing fireworks display, be disappointed as the fireworks don't work, or blow himself up. He was a rockstar before heading to Blackreef and some of his songs play throughout the game. He has no Slab power, but it is still worth it to kill him in his pad at least once. If players enter the mansion in a conventional manner, they wear a class pass which removes all of Colt's powers.

3 Aleksis

Aleksis is a supremely rich man and funded most of the AEON program. He is only found at night hosting a lavish party to end the day. He is also one of the hardest kills to pull off. At the party, if an alarm is raised, there are tons of guards who flood in. The best thing to do is find the right mix to get Aleksis to start dancing and then use Nexus on him. Shoot him and then all the surrounding guards die at the same time, preventing an all-out attack.

2 Colt

One of the top Visionaries is, of course, the player character. Colt starts off just as much in the dark as the player and only unravels the mystery as players discover the truth.

The game is surprisingly ambiguous as to whether what he is doing is right or wrong. While the ending is ultimately up to a choice by the player, Colt is a fleshed-out character with a distinct personality. This is mostly thanks to his interactions with Julianna, the character with whom he interacts the most.

1 Julianna

Julianna deathloop

Julianna hates Colt at the start of the game and players do not know why. By the end of Deathloop, it is clear why exactly she wants to kill him constantly and preserve the loop. The invasions alone justify her place on the list. The dialogue between her and Colt puts her over the top and is the main way players learn about the loop and Blackreef. Actress Oziuma Akagha deserves special commendation for bringing her to life.

Deathloop is out now for PS5 and PC.
