Anyone who follows the career of Hideo Kojima knows that the man loves teases. Today, it appears the game developer is at it once again, posting a cryptic photo to his Twitter of what looks to be the editing of a new trailer for his latest upcoming project, Death Stranding.

The photo in question is sparse on details, not even including any text or caption to explain what exactly is being posted. All that can be seen are two computer monitors on a desk. One of the monitors prominently displays the Death Stranding logo, while the other shows an editing timeline, too far in the background to clearly make out any details. Upon squinting a bit, the Adobe Premiere and After Effects icons can be spotted in the lower left of the monitor with the logo.

Kojima is obviously editing something for Death Stranding, and it could be another trailer. The fact he made a point to release the photo to the public indicates the trailer's release could be right around the corner. It has been a while since the last Death Stranding trailer, meaning we are certainly due for one, but it looks like all that can be done for now is to wait patiently for our next look at this bizarre, intriguing title.

Last month, Kojima made another post on his Twitter account that detailed how development on the game is going, stating that Death Stranding is now at a "critical phase" in the process. The update said the title still had not entered the debugging and testing stages, but that development was making progress. Kojima also confirmed he plays the game every day and is involved in every step, making decisions as they go along.

There are still plenty of things that are not known about Death Stranding. All that can be done at this point, though, is to piece together what has been shown or announced through either trailers or by Kojima himself.

At a recent panel held at the Tribeca Film Festival, Kojima said there was a theme of connection that linked the story and the game itself, adding that the game hosts "a really new idea" in the way players are connected in the game. Some have taken this to mean that Death Stranding may have multiplayer elements, possibly its own multiplayer world within the game.

As usual, Kojima didn't go into detail, so it is left to interpretation. Hopefully, this upcoming trailer, if that is indeed what it turns out to be, will shed some light on this and many other questions surrounding the enigmatic title.

Death Stranding is currently in development for PlayStation 4.
