The popularity of 2019’s surreal action game Death Stranding by Kojima Productions has not faded, and the development studio even collaborated recently with CD Projekt Red to introduce Cyberpunk 2077-themed content to Death Stranding’s post-apocalyptic United States.

With continued interest in the unique and sometimes perplexing world created by Death Stranding director Hideo Kojima comes a market for collectible figurines of characters from the game. In a press release, Good Smile Factory and Max Factory revealed that figma figurines of Death Stranding’s Sam Porter Bridges and Cliff, the character played by Mads Mikkelsen, are currently in development.

While details about the Cliff figurine haven’t been revealed yet, preorders for Death Stranding's Sam Porter Bridges character are currently open until noon on March 17, 2021. Two separate editions will be available, and the finished product is expected to ship in the US in November 2021. Customers who preorder either version of the figurine will receive a figma stand with the Bridges insignia and Death Stranding logo on it.

The development of the figurines is being supervised entirely by Kojima Productions, and Max Factory has used 3D paintwork to accurately recreate actor Norman Reedus’ face. And the figurine can be posed in a variety of stances thanks to its articulated joints and the flexible plastic used “for important areas.” The figures in both editions are approximately 6.29 inches tall.

The regular edition of the Sam Porter Bridges figma figurine will retail for $94.99 and comes with a small cargo case, an assault rifle, damage sensor tape, cargo ID stickers, and of course a Death Stranding BB in his pod. Five sets of hands in different positions will also be included to allow for different poses. The sales page on Good Smile Company’s US website points out that, while some of the promotional images show Sam Porter Bridges riding a Reverse Trike, the vehicle will not be included with the figurine purchase.

The DX Edition of the Death Stranding figurine will cost $121.99. It features the same items as the regular edition and also comes with two large cargo cases, a second small cargo case, a floating carrier, a bola gun, as well as two shoulder and two leg protectors.

For those interested in a less realistic rendition of the character, Good Smile Company also released two Nendoroid versions of Death Stranding’s Sam Porter Bridges in 2020, and the deluxe “Great Deliverer” version is still available for purchase. The chibi-style figurine stands approximately four inches in height and comes with a gamut of accessories.

Death Stranding is available on PC and PS4.
