Despite the fact that gamers still know relatively little in regards to what Death Stranding is supposed to be about, the forthcoming video game from Kojima Productions is easily one of the most highly anticipated titles in recent memory. Now, should a listing on the retailer Walmart Canada's website be accurate, then fans may not have to wait too much longer for the PlayStation exclusive to launch. As it so happens, the game could be coming in the middle of 2019.

As seen in the tweet below from Geoff Keighley, he made reference to the lineup of currently unknown releases intended to be on display during The Game Awards 2018. What's more is that he cheekily implied that Walmart Canada needs to be careful with its online listings to prevent spoiling any information slated for next week's show. Directly following Keighley's tweet, a Twitter user by the handle of "Yinob" responded with a screenshot of Walmart Canada's website showing Death Stranding's shipping date as June 30, 2019.

For those unaware, Keighley referenced Walmart Canada in the above tweet due to the fact that prior to E3 2018, the company's website was found to contain a trove of details regarding unannounced titles and release dates, with one of the listings correctly confirming RAGE 2 before its official reveal. Of course, it's also worth noting that not all of the listings on Walmart Canada's site appeared to be totally accurate, which could be the case when it comes to the aforementioned shipping date for Death Stranding. After all, it could just be a placeholder for the time being.

Taking everything into account, with June 30, 2019 falling on a Sunday–a day that's traditionally not associated with game releases–there is a chance that Walmart Canada's listing is correct, and that shipping for Death Stranding will start occurring then in order to meet a July 2019 release date. Nevertheless, we will simply have to wait and see exactly when Hideo Kojima decides to confirm the game's availability so that such rampant speculation can finally end. That said, a recent rumor suggested that Death Stranding might have its release date revealed during The Game Awards 2018, which is plausible, but only time will tell.

Death Stranding is currently in development for PlayStation 4, but currently lacks an official release date.
