Although the general public has been aware of Hideo Kojima's unreleased Death Stranding for years now, it is still an enigma as to what the game will actually be. After having seen many trailers and leaked screenshots, gamers are still mystified at what Kojima's intentions are for one of the most eagerly anticipated games in recent memory. As it so happens, the mystery surrounding Death Stranding continues, as it is now discounted on Amazon.

As if it was not already a puzzling and confusing topic, surrounding bewilderment continues to grow regarding Death Stranding, as pre-orders for the title have already been discounted by $9.00 at Amazon. The game is still listed as $59.99, but the $9.00 discount is applied at checkout, and is for physical copies only. The discount is likely to surprise many, and will surely help stoke further conversations about Death Stranding's release.

Although Kojima has deliberately left fans to speculate and wonder about what Death Stranding is, there are a few aspects of the game that the public does know. While this should be taken with a grain of salt, a rumor involving Sony Brazil's email has surfaced, stating that Death Stranding's release date will be announced at The Game Awards 2018 on December 6.

In terms of the gameplay itself, a leak from six months ago suggests that Death Stranding's combat will involve "tons of weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and gear from multiple eras". What's more is that the same leak reveals that a multiplayer mode will also be included.

While the marketing tactics for Death Stranding certainly take a nontraditional approach, the secrecy surrounding the title seems to be working to make it a highly anticipated release. However, the created anticipation may have begun a little earlier than it should have, for it appears as if many have begun to grow tired of simple teaser trailers and screenshots, as they hold out hope for more concrete gameplay instead. Despite this, it's safe to presume that loads of fans of Kojima's work will go ahead and take advantage of the pre-order discount at Amazon while it's still available.

Death Stranding is currently in development exclusively for PlayStation 4, but lacks an official release date.
