One of the biggest talking points surrounding Death Stranding is who will play the game's female lead. Previous rumors suggested that Emma Stone would play the character but after that proved to be false, fans have continued to speculate on which actress will be involved with the game. Fans continue to look for clues and teasers, even analyzing social media posts in an effort to put the pieces together.

The latest clue that has Death Stranding fans talking comes from Stefanie Joosten's Twitter account. Joosten, who played female assassin and sniper Quiet in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, has now posted a series of images that fans have taken as confirmation that she is in Death Stranding. Joosten's tweet includes four images and they all seem to be of the same beach location.

One appears to feature a group of people on the horizon, another is of a pattern on the sand, one looks outwards towards the sea, and the final image is a close-up of some broken seashells. The images have a similar tone to Death Stranding trailers which have featured rain, grey, overcast skies and a beach.

The greyness of these images isn't the only thing that has fans convinced that Joosten is involved in Death Stranding, however. On January 24, Joosten took a photo with Hermen Hulst, the head of (Horizon Zero Dawn developer) Guerilla Games, confirming that she had visited its Amsterdam offices. Guerilla Games is a technology partner on Death Stranding as the game is powered by Guerilla's Decima game engine, which makes Joosten's decision to visit the studio all the more interesting.

Additionally, Joosten previously posted a photo of herself standing next to an advertisement of Mads Mikkelsen, who has a significant role in the game. Joosten has also tweeted about how "amazing" Mikkelsen looked in the Death Stranding trailer that was released in December 2016. Joosten could just be supporting Mikkelsen as a fellow actor in a Hideo Kojima game, or she could be supporting him as her Death Stranding co-star.

Right from the time it was announced, Death Stranding is a game that has kept people guessing. Fans have looked for Easter eggs in trailers and have come up with wild theories in lieu of confirmed detailsand it doesn't seem like that is going to stop anytime soon. Though, it could still be a while until Joosten's involvement is outright confirmed or denied and fans will have to be patient in the meantime.

Death Stranding is currently in development for PS4.
