Death Stranding is no stranger to impressive fan art, and that honor has actually been fairly consistent for most titles in Hideo Kojima's collection of cinematic epics. However, one fan has decided to fuse Death Stranding and the last game to release from Kojima Productions before the studio cut ties with Konami.

The latest piece of Death Stranding fan art contains a cross over with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and celebrates Venom Snake's relationship with his favorite Diamond Dog. Posted by boss.battle.minute on instagram, this makes on of various pieces that have crossed some of Kojima's most famous games.

The art in question depicts Venom Snake, aka Big Boss, holding up the wolf puppy that eventually becomes the recruit-able companion D. Dog, but with a Death Stranding styled twist. Instead of holding D. Dog in the flesh as Venom Snake does in Phantom Pain, the puppy is situated inside of a BB Tank that houses BBs in Death Stranding. It's hard to see Venom Snake's expression at the time, but he's likely already as attached to the "BB Dog" as he is to D. Dog.

This isn't the first time that fans have combined numerous references to pop culture with Death Stranding, nor is it the only time that the game has been combined with Metal Gear. Some fans have even begun sharing Christmas themed art about "Santa Sam" delivering presents over on the hashtag #deathstranding on Instagram and Twitter. With so much content constantly being shared by the community it takes something either fairly unique or of some incredible quality to stand out against all of the others.

Thanks to the growing Death Stranding community and the game's positive spin on multiplayer, the content being shared by fans is more positive than some groups of fans usually do. That doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't some negativity being shared, mostly by the fact that Death Stranding has easily become the most divisive title of 2019. Although, it would seem that among the community itself, players who enjoy the game seem to be focusing on the positive more than they pay attention to those who dislike the game for the areas where it falls short.

Death Stranding is available now for PS4, with a PC release expected in Summer 2020
