It is without a doubt that Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding was one of the most anticipated games of 2019. The fate of which game will win the most coveted video game award will be revealed on the live stream of the awards show happening on December 12, 2019.
Apart from being nominated for Game of the Year, Death Stranding also achieved a new sales record. In a tweet released by Game Data Library, it was revealed that Death Stranding is the biggest launch for a new game IP in this console generation. The game sold 185,909 copies in Japan, which is significantly higher than Judgment, which is in second place with launch sales clocking in at 153,577.
