Death Stranding is less than a month away, and throughout its development, the game has been shrouded in mystery. This is partly due to the director of the game, Hideo Kojima, who has a reputation for enigmatic game releases which was built through the Metal Gear franchise and continued in Death Stranding's trailers. Yet, today there is word on how much storage players should clear for Death Stranding, and it is a reasonable 55 GB.

This is Hideo Kojima's first game since leaving Konami productions, and many will remember the turbulent relationship between the two as Kojima was shown the door. The final game Kojima was responsible for, Metal Gear Solid V, was a success despite confusion and anger about how the game ended. Interestingly, the file size for that game was just 25.6 GB before additional downloads.

Metal Gear Solid V had a large open world, and with Death Stranding being double the size, it would be fair for players to expect a large game. With player actions sustaining or killing NPC's in Death Strandingthere will surely be a lot more than just the size of the maps for players to become invested in. Unique storytelling and game mechanics is what will attract fans to the game, with many hoping that Kojima can deliver this once again.

There will likely be additional downloads and updates for Death Stranding after its release, but the decent file size will be a relief for those who recently saw the incredible amount of space Call of Duty: Modern Warfare takes up on the PC. Although how much additional content will be required to be downloaded has not been stated, players can look forward to a game that doesn't fill all their memory immediately.

Whilst many question what Death Stranding actually is, anticipation mounts. What is known is that there are some incredible actors and names who have worked on the project. Furthermore, Kojima's 'Strand concept' is certainly an intriguing one, albeit a scary one judging from the trailers of the game. Many will be relieved that they can fit the game on their console easily, although the ominous black sludge and babies in capsules may unsettle players just as quickly.

Death Stranding is set to release on November 8, 2019, exclusively to the PS4.
