Death Stranding: Director's Cut brings Hideo Kojima's first post-Konami game to PlayStation 5, and it does so with style. Kojima Productions was not content with simply releasing a version of Death Stranding on PS5 with slightly better graphics and performance, instead packing the game with new content for fans to check out. Some of this new content was advertised ahead of time, while some of it was kept secret, like a rather disturbing P.T. Easter egg that fans have been stumbling on.

For the uninitiated, P.T. stands for "Playable Teaser," and it was essentially a demo that Kojima created for his Silent Hills project. Unfortunately, Konami canceled Silent Hills and P.T. was pulled from the PlayStation Store. Despite this, the demo remains popular with horror fans, with many hailing it as one of the best horror gaming experiences ever despite its short length.

P.T. inspired a legion of horror games that have helped carry on its legacy, but Kojima Productions has also kept P.T. alive with clever Easter eggs. Kojima included a P.T. Easter egg in Metal Gear Solid 5, and now a new P.T. Easter egg has been added to Death Stranding with the PS5 exclusive Director's Cut.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut players have discovered a new dream sequence where hero Sam Porter Bridges notices a mysterious figure in his shower. Upon investigating the shower, the perspective shifts to a first-person view, like in P.T., and the figure starts twitching violently. Its face then rushes the camera for a jump scare, with some fans thinking this figure is meant to represent P.T.'s ghost Lisa.

This isn't the only creepy Easter egg in Death Stranding, but it's definitely one of the most disturbing things that players can find in the game. And the fact that this Easter egg wasn't in the original version of Death Stranding just makes it even creepier, as even those who played the original extensively were likely caught offguard by it.

With Death Stranding: Director's Cut releasing just recently, it will be interesting to see if the game is hiding other Easter eggs for fans to discover. Death Stranding is a fairly long experience, so it may take some time for fans to find everything that's hiding in the new Director's Cut version of the game. In the meantime, hopefully Kojima shares information about his rumored horror game project soon, as it's been seven years since P.T.'s release and fans are still waiting to see what a full-scale Kojima horror game would look like.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut is out now, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
