Death Stranding is the latest Hideo Kojima game. Despite inspiration from modern political developments and cameos from popular dramatic actors, the game has still maintained its sense of humor.

Death Stranding has one of the most potently comedic ad campaigns, and as such was bound to leave a few easter eggs for players seeking a comedic breath of fresh air in this bleak universe. This comedic touch manifests itself in the form of a Conan O'Brien cameo, which upon accessing will grant Death Stranding players the Sea Otter Hood. Below is a step-by-step guide for how to find Conan O'Brien in Death Stranding.

Find the Standard Delivery Mission

In Death Stranding, it always begins with a mission. The Standard Delivery mission is given in South Knot City during Episode 3, and revolves around delivering some materials to an individual known as "The Cosplayer." This is the essential first step for finding Conan O'Brien.

Find the Prepper Shelter

It seems the legendary Conan O'Brien is a prepper in this world, and inhabits a prepper shelter to the northwest of South Knot City. Death Stranding players will notice a craggy ravine if they head in that direction, just about halfway to the Weather Station. Once found, Death Stranding players should find the entrance, and with the use of a climbing anchor, attempt to rappel down. If players feel compelled more towards action, they can also use a motorbike to go racing down the canyon.

Complete the Mission

Upon delivery of the materials to the cosplayer, Death Stranding players should now have the prepper shelter on their chiral network. This should reveal Conan O'Brien, who will mention some comedic trivia (as expected) around sea otters, weasels, and how they relate to his family. Exhaust this dialogue, and Conan will award Death Stranding players with their very own Sea Otter Hood.

The Sea Otter Hood is an interesting and hilarious item that activates rain while making Death Stranding players appear delightfully ridiculous. But don't worry, this isn't the end of Conan O'Brien's in-game cameo. Death Stranding players can keep making deliveries for the cosplayer compound, effectively unlocking Conan O'Brien as a hologram for their upgraded structures as soon as they've gotten their connection to Level 4.

Death Stranding launches on November 8 for PS4 with a PC release to follow in the summer of 2020.
