Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are still reveling after the big reveal of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine returning in Deadpool 3. After the first announcements, Ryan Reynolds and Jackman released a follow-up video, which is mostly shrouded in mystery as a music track plays over their conversation about the plot of the film. One Deadpool fan took it upon himself to lip-read and decipher what the two stars were saying about the much-awaited project.

Those who have been following the X-Men franchise will be aware that Jackman’s Wolverine dies at the end of 2017’s Logan. So, many have raised the question of how he will make a return in Deadpool 3. While fans will have to wait around two years before they get any answers, with the film scheduled for a 2024 release, the funny reveal video that Reynolds posted has fans trying to catch any hints.

The reveal video has Reynolds acknowledging that Wolverine dies in Logan, but he reminds fans that the timeline in the film was set in 2029. This suggests that Deadpool 3 will be set prior to the events of Logan. However, when he starts going into the details of the film, a music track begins to play and drowns out their voices. Twitter user Jomboy shared a video on his account with him providing a voiceover of the things that Reynolds and Jackman are possibly saying in the video. Jomboy clarifies that he tried his best to lip-read, but his voiceover is not entirely accurate.

The conversation is mostly about Reynolds and Jackman talking about their respective characters, potentially even getting into a fight in the upcoming film. They joke about explosions, swords, and some brutal fight scenes. At one point, Jackman is possibly saying “we’re in our prime,” but what’s better is Reynolds telling fans that this is a “way to make it up to you.” Could they potentially be referring to how fans have been demanding a mutant storyline in the MCU?

Both actors seem to be quite excited about the upcoming project, and the feeling seems to be mutual for fans as well. Ever since news of Jackman’s involvement in Deadpool 3 broke, it's been all that MCU fans seem to talk about on social media. It has already been over four years since fans last saw Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth on the big screen, when Deadpool 2 released, and it seems like the gap between both films is going to be over six years. If the reveal video is anything to go by, the wait will be worth it for fans.

Deadpool 3 is scheduled to release in theaters on September 6, 2024.
