In a bit of creative marketing, Marvel's Midnight Suns could be teasing future potential downloadable content as Deadpool makes his case to join the roster. Following multiple game delays, Midnight Suns appears to be well on its way to its early December launch. To get fans ready, Firaxis has been steadily providing glimpses at all of the characters available inside the game, whether it be villains like Sabertooth or Venom, to the roster of heroes made up of both popular and lesser known heroes like Nico Minoru and Magik.

The current playable roster is already fairly expansive, giving fans plenty of options to suit how they want to play, from the up close and personal style of Wolverine, Doctor Strange's ranged magic, or the more adaptive and customizable Hunter. Still, the launch roster appears to be just the tip of the iceberg for where Firaxis plans to take Midnight Suns following its release. In fact, the developer has apparently already started to potentially tease upcoming content thanks to a Twitter takeover by none other than the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool.

The short Twitter video on the renamed "DeadpoolSuns" account has the popular Marvel character breaking the fourth wall to appeal to fans to tell Firaxis that he should join the Midnight Suns playable roster. With Nolan North reprising his voice role from Activision's 2013 Deadpool game, the character admits to taking over the account and holding it hostage until he is added to the game. The character even creates his own hashtag and shows off some drawings of potential alternate costumes including one with a sort of black and yellow wizard hat.

Deadpool also chastises fans for attempting to use his calls for support to suggest other characters instead. In fact, one hero that has seen a lot of support to join the Midnight Suns roster is Moon Knight, a character that Deadpool clearly isn't familiar with. Another interesting name-drop is Frank Drake, a deep cut Marvel character that has ties to characters like Abraham van Helsing, Blade, and the current Midnight Suns villain, Lilith. It's possible these two name-drops are another tease of future content.

It would appear that fans can expect to see additional content come down the line after the game launches. Already, fans have been able to nab a free skin for Blade well in advance of Midnight Suns release date, though members of the development team have hinted at some of the things the studio is planning. Over the summer months, senior franchise producer Garth DeAngelis confirmed that additional characters would be joining the roster with their own story missions and abilities. While Firaxis as not confirmed anything more than that, it seems likely that these recent PR moves may be giving fans more than a few hints at what to expect.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns launches December 2 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S with PS4, Switch, and Xbox One versions coming later.
