Nothing is worse than a broken shower, especially when it's so vital to a game like Deadly Premonition 2. Here's how to fix it. Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is unique in many ways. It combines a skateboarding protagonist in an open world with small elements of horror to throw fans into a sense of unease throughout the game. However, it's not just the genre that is unique, it's the elements the protagonist has to go through to complete some of these quests.
This includes the requirement to stay clean. In most games that follow this genre, such cleanliness is not needed. However, in Deadly Premonition 2, players can fail quests if York isn't clean, and it can cost a lot of money. This is why breaking the shower is so frustrating. Luckily, there's a way to fix it and get York back to his clean self.
Break The Shower
Breaking the shower in Deadly Premonition 2 requires very little effort on York's part. In fact, after one or two uses the hotel room shower is more than likely to break meaning it's one of those side quests players will experience at the beginning of the game.
It's vital that, once the shower is broken, York aims to fix it as soon as possible because after a few days he will begin to smell, and it will cost players a considerable amount of money if they try and talk to anyone when smelling.
Talk To The Concierge
Once the shower is broken, it's worth heading down to the main lobby and finding the Concierge. Anyone else York tries to talk to about the problem initially will be extremely unhelpful.
The main issue players will discover when trying to talk to the Concierge is actually finding him. Summoning him by pressing the bell will only open up the chance to buy things, whereas players need to actually talk to him.
It's recommended to wait for him to appear by the desk and then go and speak to him about the shower rather than pressing the bell. This will further the quest, but York will still end up having to fix it himself.
Head To The Restaurant
Once the first interaction is complete, the Concierge will tell Deadly Premonition 2's York to go to the valves and fix the shower himself, it's not really York's job, but it's better to just have a shower than argue. The first valve is located in the restaurant so head towards that room and look for a tall grey pipe coming out of the wall. It shouldn't be too hard to sport.
Luckily, both the player and York don't need to be qualified plumbers to interact with the valve itself. It's simply a button to press and then the first part of the sidequest is complete.
Talk To The Concierge Again
After the first valve has been adjusted the player will need to return to the Concierge. Depending on how quick players are when finding the restaurant pipe the Concierge may still be at the desk. If he's not then York will need to wait for him to arrive again. It's recommended to grab a cigarette and wait until around 16:30 for him to appear at his desk again.
Once the Concierge has arrived, talk to him directly without pressing the bell, and he will direct you to the next steps.
Speak To The Bellboy
After speaking to the Concierge about fixing the valve he will promptly tell York he has no idea how else to help the problem, hinting that the bellboy or the chef may have a better idea. Once this has happened the player will need to find the bellboy and ask for help.
Unfortunately, the bellboy is only available in the morning so head down to the lobby at around 9:30 and find them around. Speak to them, and they will direct York to the corner of the hall on the second floor.
Head To The Second Floor
Thankfully there aren't too many puzzles in Deadly Premonition 2 so fixing the shower is a relatively easy task, it's just a little long-winded and requires a lot of hotel exploration.
Nevertheless, the Concierge will direct the player to the second floor where they will need to, yet again, find another tall grey pipe. This one is located by the vending machine down the hall. Click the button to readjust it and the work is complete.
Talk To The Chef
Fixing the pipe on the second floor is not enough to get the shower working, so players will need to go and find the Chef for the last clue to the puzzle.
Head towards the restaurant at around 12:30 and pop in to talk to him. He will give York the last hint that it's near the bathroom on the first floor. Players will then need to leave the restaurant and head downstairs.
Head To The Mens Toilet
After that direction, head to the men's toilets and find the familiar tall grey pipe. Click on it and the final element will be complete with the water perfectly adjusted.
There is no need to head back to the Concierge after this, York can simply head up to his room and make sure the shower is working again. Depending on how quickly the player completes this quest York may be in desperate need to take a shower so jump in as soon as possible and let him enjoy a decent water pressure and a reliable wash, so he can continue in this survival game.
