EA Motive recently gave Dead Space fans a glimpse into how the remake's development is going with an early development livestream. Since then, the developers have confirmed that Dead Space Remake will be going dark until 2022.

During the early development livestream, EA Motive showed off the work in progress that is the upcoming Dead Space Remake. The early build showed off a comparison between the original look of Dead Space and the new version after adding more details, lighting, shaders, and materials. As a result, the areas of the game that EA Motive portrayed during the livestream made the higher fidelity of the remake evident. From necromorphs and dismemberment to the zero gravity sections, everything seems to be havily updated to meet modern standards.

EA Motive's recent Dead Space Remake stream only gave a glimpse into certain areas of the Ishimura, focusing primarily on tight corridors and cluttered corners. EA Motive also revealed what Dead Space Remake's suit for Isaac Clarke looks like on a newer engine. The original Dead Space was released over a decade ago and the jump to the new consoles will show how far graphics, audio, and gameplay have come along the way. EA Motive is also working to capture the ambiance of the original Dead Space, attempting to immerse players in Isaac's life.

In a recent Reddit post, EA Motive did another community update to build upon what was said during the recent livestream. The team reiterated that it is interested in hearing fan feedback about what they want to see from the remake and their thoughts on the recent reveals. The team also confirmed that they will be working hard and focusing on Dead Space Remake in order to provide further updates in 2022.

While EA Motive is polishing the original Dead Space experience with the upcoming remake, it also assures fans that everything will have the feeling of wear and tear to it. Dead Space had a grungy look to it that added to the survival experience and EA Motive intends to keep that intact. The developer also intends to deliver a lot of environmental storytelling on Dead Space Remake's USG Ishimura.
