Motive Studio announced that its Dead Space remake had gone gold, meaning the development of the game is now fully complete. Dead Space is ready to be sold and will be copied for mass distribution ahead of its January 27 release date.Initial reports that a Dead Space remake was in development appeared in July 2021, indicating that Motive Studio was preparing an updated version of the iconic 2008 survival horror game. This remake keeps the same plot as the original game, where engineer Isaac Clarke investigates a distress call sent by a vast planetary mining ship. Clarke needs to find out what happened while fending against hordes of mutated human corpses that attacked the vessel’s crew.RELATED: Dead Space Remake Gameplay Presentation Highlights Improvements and Differences from First GameThrough a short tweet, Motive Studio announced that the remake of Dead Space had gone gold. The development studio shared its excitement for the upcoming release and thanked its fans for their continuing support.

Earlier this month, nearly 20 minutes of gameplay from the Dead Space remake was released on the IGN YouTube channel. This video opened with USG Ishimura, the spaceship where the game takes place. Clarke and his crew explored the large vessel, discovering the mutilated bodies of those who used to work on that ship before alien creatures attacked them. Unfortunately for Clarke and his crew, those monsters were still lurking in the shadows, and they were soon under attack.

On top of receiving a major graphical update, the Dead Space remake gives its main character Isaac Clarke a voice, while the original game featured a silent protagonist. Gunner Wright, who voiced Clarke in the second and third installments of the Dead Space series, reprises his role to give a new dimension to the initial adventures of the engineer. Motive Studio unveiled the other voice actors joining Dead Space, including Star Wars: Clone Wars' Brigitte Kali Canales, who portrays computer specialist Kendra Daniels and former NHL athlete Anthony Alabi, who lends his voice to Chief Security Officer Zach Hammond. Tanya Clarke, who voiced the Senior Medical Officer in Dead Space 2 and 3, returns as Nicole Brennan.

Dead Space will come out on January 27, with various editions for players to choose from. The Standard Edition comes with the game with no additional bonus, the Digital Deluxe Edition brings five exclusive cosmetics, and the Collector’s Edition features even more Dead Space goodies. After receiving backlash from players as the Dead Space Collector’s Edition didn’t include the Digital Deluxe pre-order content, EA released a statement to let players know that “all past and future pre-orders” of the Dead Space Collector’s Edition will now include the Digital Deluxe content at no additional cost.

Dead Space will release on January 27, 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
