Now that players have conquered the Dead Space remake, questions are inevitable about what a potential Dead Space 2 remake could look like. Dead Space 2 is a beloved sequel, and to see it remade in the same vein as 2023’s Dead Space would make many fans happy.

8 Stick A Needle In Your Eye

The Dead Space franchise has had some iconic moments, characters, and weapons across the multiple games EA has produced, but often the most talked about and stressful one is the eye-poke scene from Dead Space 2. The scene itself involves Isaac Clarke using a NoonTech Diagnostic Machine to stick a needle in his eye which will access the information and blueprints about the Markers.

What makes the scene so iconic is the fact that the player is in control, and players could easily mess up and cut Isaac’s eyeball out. It’s gruesome, intense, and sweat-inducing, and with the new haptic feedback from the PS5, it could be an incredible feature for the Dead Space 2 remake.

7 Character Development

The first time that players get to hear the voice of their protagonist, Isaac Clarke, is in Dead Space 2. Considering that the Dead Space remake already brought Isaac Clarke into the fray by giving him a voice, a personality, and a ton of new dialogue to engage with his crew and other characters on the USG Ishimura, is even more reason to further flesh out his character, and others, in Dead Space 2.

The original game focuses on Isaac, his relationship with Nicole, and his attempts at escaping the Sprawl with Ellie Langford. Since the Dead Space remake fleshed out Isaac, his relationship with Nicole, and the Kellion crew, it would be a great idea for the Dead Space 2 remake to go deeper with these character developments.

6 More Lore

Lore is important for fictional games like Dead Space. They help audiences and players to fully immerse themselves into this bold vision, and to further understand the advancements and horrors of this sci-fi horror series. The Dead Space remake did a great job by featuring tons of collectibles that helped audiences piece together the world.

Lore is often found through text, video, and audio logs, and Dead Space 2 would benefit from more logs that Isaac Clarke can find on his own accord, rather than it being thrown in the RIG-suited face. More lore is always a benefit, especially since the remake would be working in hindsight from the original, and add necessary details.

5 Side Missions

The faithful Dead Space remake introduced some new additions to the game that made the entry more modern. This involved the inclusion of side missions, notably absent from the original Dead Space. These side missions helped to flesh out characters like Isaac Clarke, and the horrors of the Necromorphs.

By adding side missions to a Dead Space 2 remake, the developers could further keep audiences engaged with new content, and offer fans that enjoy learning more about the characters a chance to immerse themselves further. As a bonus, everyone likes completing missions and gaining rewards for doing so, making side missions in Dead Space 2 a no-brainer.

4 Weapons

Isaac Raises his Weapon in Dead Space

When one is facing hordes of undead and alien terrors, futuristic guns are the best bet for survival. As an engineer, Isaac Clarke is pretty good at retooling this equipment into becoming something great, especially at the “cutting-off-limbs” variety. Whether it’s the classic and trusty Plasma Cutter, or something new, Dead Space 2 has some great weapons.

The best Dead Space 2 weapons could be improved further, much like the weapons in the Dead Space remake. Balancing the weapons, and making them more fun to use, and more versatile, would greatly benefit Dead Space 2 in the initial replay, as each weapon has a unique use. However, players can never go wrong with the trusty Plasma Cutter.

3 Necromorph Types

As most sequels go, the budget and stakes are higher. In the case of Dead Space 2, that was certainly the case, and the developers went bolder with their enemy designs. There were of course the classic and horrific Necromorph designs from the first Dead Space, only this time they added more variety in terms of enemies.

There were a few more Necromorph types introduced in Dead Space 2, and it would be great to see these creatures in action again, as much as it is scary to try and kill them. However, with the amazing graphics of the Dead Space remake, the talent in creating the gory imagery of the Necromorphs will only excel with new creations.

2 Same Story

There’s a divide among Dead Space fans regarding what EA should do with the franchise. Some fans want EA Motive to create their own Dead Space game, whereas others would like to see the entire trilogy remade faithfully to the originals. It seems that the popular consensus with Dead Space 2, is to remake it as faithful as the original.

The story of Dead Space 2 sees Isaac Clarke waking up in a straightjacket, where he discovers he is on the Sprawl, a civilian space station. Isaac is once again thrust into a Necromorph outbreak, where he needs to discover lost memories, fight foes old and new, and get off the ship.

1 Gunner Wright

An absolute must-have for the Dead Space franchise is Gunner Wright. This actor portrays the protagonist of the Dead Space games, Isaac Clarke, and does a brilliant job at it. Wright’s delivery of some lines is great, with a high range of emotions. From scared, confident, humorous and stressed, Gunner Wright has Isaac Clarke’s personality down to a tee.

Considering that Dead Space 2 was officially the first time Gunner Wright voiced Isaac Clarke, it would be a disservice to the actor and the character to not have Gunner Wright reprise his role for a Dead Space 2 remake, especially when Wright now embodies the likeness of Isaac for the Dead Space remake.

Dead Space Remake is currently available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
