'Dead Space 2' Amazon Deal of the Day

Dead Space 2 Amazon Sale Hordes Coming To Claim Their Copy

Dead Space 2 is probably a game that every gamer should have in their library, so Amazon has taken note of that fact and put it on sale. For today only, the recently released title can be purchased for $39.99, a 33% savings over its usual price.

Also on sale is the Collector's Edition of the game, which has had it's price cut 25% to $59.99. That places its price at the same as the standard edition's price on a normal day.

Considering the game was released not even an entire 2 weeks ago, this may be a bold move by Amazon to clear out stock while their competitors are still charging more for the critically acclaimed horror game.

Dead Space 2 has been making headlines ever since release. On the day of launch Dead Space 2: Severed was announced as the first official DLC for the game. The expansion will add two additional chapters which focus on Gabriel Weller and Lexine Murdoch of Dead Space Extraction fame (well, as famous as Dead Space Extraction gets, anyway). Severed will take place during the events of Dead Space 2 and the first screens of the expected DLC were released over the weekend to help get everyone excited for what's to come.

Still not convinced that Dead Space 2 is for you? Then go ahead and read our Dead Space 2 review to make a more informed decision for yourself. Regardless, we think the Hand Cannon alone is reason enough to buy the game, and we'll be damned if anyone is going to tell us otherwise.

Are you going to be taking advantage of this drop in price so early in the release of Dead Space 2?

Dead Space 2 is available now for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Dead Space 2: Severed has been given the awesome timeline of "soon," and will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Sorry PC gamers --  no word yet on EA changing their mind about that whole "not bringing Dead Space 2 DLC to PC" thing.
