As mentioned, the Crusher is one of the few Apex zombies that can be a handful to handle in Dead Island 2. While their increased health and sturdiness are already troublesome, they also possess some other attacks that can catch those unprepared out. Combined with other zombies in the area, and it could make for a tough fight even with the best weapons.
How to Defeat Crushers in Dead Island 2
With their tanky nature, Crushers are threats that need to be tackled head-on. Here are the important tips to note when facing a Crusher or several of them at one go:
- Crushers are fond of their Overhead Smash attack, which sends a seismic shockwave that can knock Slayers down. Jump to avoid this attack.
- They are exposed after either an Overhead Smash or a kick attack, take advantage to reduce its stability with the right weapons.
- They resist Explosive damage but are weak to Bleed damage, target the head and arms instead of the tough legs.
- Maim the Crusher's arms to prevent its Overhead Smash attack, and the fight becomes infinitely easier and much more entertaining to watch.
The shockwave from its Overhead Smash will also affect other zombies in the area, so always be on the move to avoid getting swarmed. Make full use of Curveballs to even the odds further. Deeper into the game, more variants will appear like the Inferno Crusher, so bring the right weapon to the fight to stand a better chance of success.
